the website doesnt mention if the front wheel is a coaster or fixie. Butt fuck an e-bike if its a coaster i'll 'borrow' grandpas chainsaw for the rear wheel. Its an echo with a nice pop & cackle.

Just rebuilt the front suspension on a 2000 Tundra. New OEM UCA, LCA, all ball joints OEM, steering rack bushings, bilstein 5100's all around. Sway bar bushings, cam adjusters, etc. Let me know what you guys think!

$905 Branick 7600 Strut Spring Compressor

Branick 7600. It has truly paid for itself, I do a ton of lift kit installs. Wall mounted spring compressor is so much safer and easier.

 

No bellows or boots? Looks good.

 

Truck has like 140k miles. The rack wasn't leaking, so I didn't recommend a full rack replacement. Boots/bellows were dry.

 

I have an 04 2WD V8 Tundra Ltd, I tried installing a 2inch strut spacer the past couple days and haven’t been able to get the struts back on. No matter what I try i can’t get the bottom of the struts to align back to the original spot so I can slide the bolt back through, I’ve tried everything from a strut spring compressor to using a punch rod. All YouTube videos make it seem so easy and I haven’t had any luck. Any suggestions?

 

you'll (might) need an alignment, but loosen the lca bushings and lower the arms, then drop the weight of the truck back onto the shocks before tightening the lower bushings.

I truly dislike strut spacer type lifts. It looks cool, but will destroy your ball joints fast. The reason you are having a hard time is because now the overall length of the strut/coilover is much longer.

Agree with the other poster to loosen your LCA bolts. And possibly your UCA.

Is the spacer 2" thick? Or is it a 2" lift spacer that should be around 1" thick.


If it's 2" thick thats 4" of lift and too much for the front end of our trucks.

 

I'd give that a shot. Nothing to lose.

You want a bike, I bet you could talk my dad into selling or maybe giving you a bike from the shed. We've got a few. Need some love, but all the important parts are there. Probably just need tubes and grease. Maybe tires and a new chain. I know there's two he probably won't let go, but at least one that won't be missed. It was my sisters and she has a motorcycle now. She hasnt ridden the bicyle in over a decade.

Second set of hands, a big screw driver and a prybar should make work of it. Use the prybar to push up on the bottom of the shock and the screwdriver to try to line up the holes. Worse case scenario jam the prybar into the UCAs and have you buddy stand/bounce on it while you try to get the screwdriver in. Then slowly pull out screwdriver as you pop in the bolt. BTW this is dangerous.

@zekeole also don't forget to disconnect the swaybar end link and loosen the control arm cam alignment bolts.

Usually that and a pry bar is all thats required.

gonna add that you're gonna want a buddy to hold things during reassembly. I've done it both ways, and its silly easy with an extra set of hands.
