What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

If you'll ever have the dash torn apart for other things, paint the factory knob with SEM Trim Black. You'll need some 300 grit sandpaper for the chrome ring, and a little patience taking it apart and putting it back together.



edit - - do you have to disassemble the dash for the aftermarket parts anyway?

 

Anybody try those Ripp coil packs on their tundra? If so any difference in anyway??

It was like that when I bought it.

 

We were in Newport Mon-Wed, and stayed at The Hallmark Resort on the 5th floor, and the fog rolled in hard late afternoon on Tuesday. Could barely see the ground, let alone the beach or ocean. Wasn't terrible when we left before 11am on Wed. Could actually see a bit of blue sky until it started raining.

Yeah, I'm probably doing to put some different pods in the bumper as opposed to the OE Rigid ones, but man this light bar puts out some light. I will have to get some pics in the dark with less light pollution.

Are there any "small OEM-style" switches besides the ones from CaliRaisedLED? The one I got seems to have permanently mated with the pigtail connector, which makes for a right pain in the ass for install.

 

From my research, getting a black button requires an entire left steering unit swap at around several hundred dollars.

For some reason, a black button isn’t sold separately. Buying an entire unit for a black volume button to replace a fully functional unit with a silver volume button seems… overkill.

 

Drove it to lunch and wheeling tomorrow.

 

Apparently it is standard on the platinum. You can always paint it

Pull the radio and you can reach in to the side to pop out the 4x4 knob.
painting the chrome works - I liked the shape and texture of the MESO unit (it replaces only the chrome, unlike the AJT that replaces the entire knob).

I also painted my AC knobs with a paint that matches the tungsten cerakote.

 

No - it's year-specific.
2014-2017 = silver button that is VOLUME
2018-2021 = black button that is ANSWER/HANG UP

The button layout between the two "sub-generations" is completely revised.

 

Reupholstered my center console. My oem cover was tearing and I wanted to uplevel the interior a bit more. Matches my seats now too.

Seats are katskin and the center console is from leatherseats.

I despise upholstery work lol never again!

How does the phone connect to android auto or apple carplay with the wireless charger? I thought phone had to be connected manually to usb data port?

Cruiser Head 4x4 has them, and you can order double switches as well as do custom graphics/words. Their "blue" is a more deep blue color.

Any issues with highway drone?

There is one FS relatively close to me. I want the grunt and growl around town, but we take a lot of family trips 2+ hours across the state and I don't want any drone for those drives.

 

I actually like the colors. Of course I came from .Laramie Limited Longhorn. I hate the "leather" so we will see.

I hate the semi useless cooled seat which will be the reason I tear into this one day. When I do, it will most likely be to replace the upholstery too. I'll attempt to keep the color, but that mixed bag of garbage they call "upgraded leather" is about worthless.

 

I have heard no drone with mine on the highway. That was my biggest reason for going with the TRD, no drone.

 

So I have a 2014 1794 with steering wheel Silver volume button, is there a way to buy a black volume control? I know you can't replace the button was thinking another year, model that came in black. I thought I read that the Taco had the same controls.
