    Hey guys

Researching the best way to install my new ome coil-overs, some videos show loosening the lower control arm and prying out the strut others show lowering the LCA completely and lowering the strut straight down? Which way is better for a install on jack stands thanks in advance

Funny you should ask. I'm picking up an OME 3" lift setup from ToyTec this coming Tuesday. I will be swapping out my OEM TRD coil overs/spacers that I recently swapped in for the stock SR5 KYB's. I used jack stands. We disconnected front sway bar links from LCAs . Also disconnected UCAs each spindle. Make sure you disconnect the speed sensor line bracket/mounts from each UCA. Remember to disconnect speed sensor connector from its bracket located near the engine too, otherwise you will stretch them too far when lowering LCAs and F them up. Should be an easy swap from there. The only hold up we had was loosening the sway bar link bolts. One side was a bitch to loosen. You may not have to disconnect the links but it made it much easier to swap, otherwise you can try the prying method which we tried but couldn't get enough leverage so we dropped the LCA's

Did you have to mess with the tie rod ends?

No. By disconnecting the UCAs from the spindle, you can move the spindle either direction to facilitate the install without disconnecting the tie rods.

No problem. I'm only getting the OME coil overs with front diff drop kit and rear OME shocks. Don't need the u bolts/ block spacer since I have a additional leaf for rear lift already. Going to have ToyTec assemble the coil overs. Still have to work out what discount I'm getting. I may go for the new Boss rear shocks since they are priced similar to the OME rears.

I did the whole kit and got that 10% discount on Monday so I'm pumped plus I had them assemble the front coilovers so it's just a straight swap

Cool. I'll make sure I get 10% too. The BOSS lift is real nice, but the OME is a good lift too for the money.

Cool. I guess all that is left for me to to get a %10 discount instead of %5.

    Bigfx,

So how is the ride with the OME coil over?

My setup is a little stiff on the road due to the heavy duty coil option. Off road is night and day compared to stock/TRD suspension. The old mining roads here in CO can be a bitch. I'm not bouncing around near as much as I use to and can haul ass if I want. Huge difference.

Nice. I'm thinking about replacing the spacer I have on fronts with a decent coilover. I guess you can't beat the price. Probably go with a lighter spring since I don't have anything heavy on the front bumper.

The OME is a very good mid range setup. Maybe the best for its price point. Check with ToyTec for 5% member discount off decent pricing already.

I love the way the 612 ride more responsive but not jarring at all seriously the truck should have come this way

It was like I was driving a different truck. The stance and feel were immediately noticeable.

Wanted to add that ToyTecs OME coil overs will give you 3" lift.
