Just a note: fuck housing prices today. This is a $200k house tops. I'm not looking forward to building a house just for the market to crash then I'm upside down in a house.

I'd be tempted to shank someone for that much project space. I'm afraid it won't happen until I'm too old to USE that much project space. #FML

I'm going to say something completely ignorant, but once you look at the numbers

The worst thing that happened to blue collar Americans was when the FBI figured out RICO and went after the Italian mob. Once they broke the mobs hold of unions, corporate America no longer feared unions.

$350k in your neck of the US is going no where, it's getting tough down here in the South as well. And the property taxes and insurance are not far behind the principal and interest payment every month. I feel sorry for the present generation.

I just did a quick search around my area, $375k was cheapest but it was about $150k a few years ago, the $550k is basically condemned and needs everything, the $1.1 million is overpriced and the lot is narrow but really long

Sadly, that’s not the case here. In the event of a crash, house pricing won’t fall much at all for our area. No places to build and nobody is building, so demand will always be high. It would have to be the recession of the 90s with no jobs for years to see them come down at all.

Jesus. If I bump that search up to $500k, you're getting a new 4k sq ft house on 5 acres with a shop. 1 mil? I don't even know. 7k sq ft on 10 or 20 acres?

Sure enough. I didn't even know that was there. I live on the south side so I'm not up north much.

We just finished up a home equity loan and about died when they told us we could borrow up to $130k. According to Fannie Mae our house is worth $165k, we paid $60k, and if anyone offered me over $100k I'd run away before the ink dried.

Interesting to see how different areas of country can be so far apart in cost.
Look at the property taxes on this house, and those numbers reflect the 2022 assessment which means they will go up once sold. The property insurance will be north of $5k annually

If it's in Chatt and sitting on 30-40 acres with at least some solid broadband available, I'd take it :D

Recently passed friend of mine lived a stones throw from Coppinger Cove, her family name. She and her brother have (/had) a bunch of property over that way we considered buying a chunk of. It just didn't feel right, by the time we had the funds, she was in a care home. Love it up there.

Faaaacckkk. We finally had our first cool humid morning and when I went to turn to defrost something definitely broke. It’s always been a little tight and hard to turn but it’s been getting worse. I know I’ve read about this on here before, anyone got a link to their repairs? I got it to turn back to face/feet by working it very gingerly but I know I’ve gotta get this fixed quick before the weather changes.

I have been manually (reaching under and flipping it) changing the temp damper for a while. Vent selection is off as well but still works.
It's slightly better with the new knobs, but like today I'll want a warm morning defrost, but not heat :bananadead:on the way home:mad:
thx for the link assdog
