You can't keeping making the same joke over and over. At least attempt to be original.

Here I'll help, copy and paste this response "Sorry, I guess like you I have to just pick low hanging fruit"

Actually just spent a week at the beach, caught a ton of Black Drum and Sheepshead inshore. I tried to go offshore one day but we had a big front coming in and it was like a washing machine. Ten miles out was far enough for me since I was solo, didn't stay out long.

Looked like it might not be available for the PowerBoost - The torque rating on the 10R80 is 590 ft lbs and PowerBoosts are at 570 stock, so that could be why.

Ford Performance appears to be releasing a tune for the 2021+ F150 3.5L with some pretty substantial gains.

Those numbers in the chart you posted are incorrect. That is the Raptor numbers.

I think the tune will make enough difference you would notice. Eager to hear about results from Ford or Toyota owners. I'd do the Toyota tune if not for premium fuel and premium price.

I would think the ford would be premium as well.

That doesnt bother me, I use 93 all the time anyways, the toyota one is weak tea for $3,400 bucks, although you are getting more than the tune.

but for either the ford or the yota, no thanks on the performance exhaust with a 3.4 or 3.5 motor, that sounds like shit. I had some raptor dude go roaring past me the other day, and it sounded really lame.

need some displacement if you want loud pipes that save lives, IMO

Now that I am reading more about this, I am a little skeptical that the gains are that great. A stock 3.5L on 93 octane is pushing close to 450 hp(probably 430 or something) as it is, they put down nearly the same power to the wheels as a Raptor. Since this tune will mandate using premium, I really dont think the true gains are going to be all that great. Maybe 20hp and a few ft-lbs.

    Nothing is free.

More HP/TQ on the same setup = less motor life. Then again most folks buy new ever 3 to 4 years anyway. Who care if it won't last past 125,000 miles?

Exactly, even a lot people around here who claim to buy Toyotas for their reliability don’t seem to keep them that long.

but also, I’d argue that towing frequently puts the motor under more consistent higher strain than having a tuned motor that gets subjected to some slightly higher strain for 5 seconds here and there.

the FP or TRD tunes will retain safeties and likely drop to stock power levels under sustained high loads as coolant and intake and exhaust temps spike and it starts running into limiters.

Where you significantly reduce motor life is running aftermarket tunes with safeties removed and tow under high loads consistently using that added torque/power. Dont ask me how I know.

we knew damn well ford was going to top Toyotas package with the ford magical pixie dust numbers.

they have done that forever, X company comes out with more payload or more towing, or more power and magically Ford all the sudden releases better numbers.

    been that way forever :burp:

Please, Ford already was topping Toyota back in 2017. Go look at Dyno’s of 3.5L Ecoboosts on 93 octane and compare them to 3G Tundras. They already were making 40hp more.

also, there have been rumors about this FP tune being in the works since before the Tundra even came out, it just took forever

yep, ford has had the pixie dust out for a long time.

they still taking off bumpers, etc for payload ratings? lol

"Instead, the figures were quoted for a truck equipped with a miniature center console and lacked a spare wheel, tire and jack, radio, and center console. This let Ford retain its claim of “Best in Class” payload in advertising claims, despite not selling the specified vehicle to the public."

I doubt it has anything to do with Toyota, I bet it has more to do with staying competitive with the upcoming I6 Hurricane. Sidenote, am I reading that right that the Toyota tune is over $3k for 34 HP?
