I used to exempt the entire months of Nov and Dec since they had all the x3 time on them. At the end of the year, we'd only end up w/about $1k back from IRS, but them f'krs don't need to use my $$ as a savings account throughout the year....

LOL...My contract is up in two years and we're watching the IAM strike right now very closely. It sets the stage.

 

Our current contract ends on July 31, 2028.
Thankfully I'll be retiring before that, hopefully in 2026.

Our pension isn't going to get much better than it already is.
There's no way I'm going through another contract negotiation.

The only reason I haven't already retired is health insurance.
I need 4 surgeries, both shoulders, and both knees replaced.
Full-time working insurance pays 100% of surgeries, retired insurance only pays 80%.
20% of 4 joint replacement surgeries is a big chunk of change to come out of my pocket.
Besides that, retired insurance kicks me off to Medicare at 65 in 2027.
If I do chose to work longer, I'll have company insurance until I retire, or die.
Even if I die off, the wife gets half my monthly pension for life and 2 years of health insurance for free..

 

Time to turn that Honda into a somewhat Dad-mobile. Need to lift the front up 2”. Lol

 

Good plan there… don’t pay for all that work if you don’t have too.

I can cash out my pension when I retire, which is the plan. I don’t get retirement healthcare, but I hope we can add that (back) in next contract. We shall see

 

Man.. it would have to be a monster check for me to cash out my pension.
I don't even think it's an option for the PERS retirement
