What was the worst part about the install? Also, do you recall if he was able to install a skid plate and/or keep oem tow hooks installed at the bottom? Some days I just think about selling it and keeping the stock bumper.

He has a small skid plate that covers the part where your oil drain plug is - bolts between the cross members, but the typical full coverage skid could fit I think. The OEM tow hooks are totally doable and we have those mounted. In fact, the way the support for the end caps is designed, I'd say you need them. The initial install was more labor intensive as you have to cut out the plastic plenum part. It really does need to be a 2 man job because in order to get the snug fit that you'll want from the Body Armor part to the OEM part, someone has to support the OEM bumper while you make the new piece fit into the middle of it just right (side to side and top to bottom).

Thanks Jim. The guy who owns Plashlights makes them himself - each one is made to order. Lifetime warranty.

Wow, that is very good info. I appreciate you taking the time to answer me. This whole time I was thinking of just doing it myself but you’ve made me reconsider that lol.

I highly recommend putting PPF behind those flare seals. It will save your paint.

I may be in the minority, but I’m loving those cab lights! That was the favorite part of my superduty. What brand did you use?

Mini Moab! I'd have to dig for some pictures, but years ago in my other truck I pulled a small trailer all over that area for a Stay The Trail. Thought about going up mini but decided against it.

Nice man! I went up and down both the side lines, but the main center chunk is a bit too much for ifs. That’s more dedicated wheelin rig territory

Took about 2 hours to do the cab lights. Most of the time is measuring twice and then again. The harness we use is from Dodge and the lights are cheapos from Amazon - when one burns out I just replace the whole set. I'm on my 3rd set and I've been running them since 2017 or 2018 so not bad longevity for the price (~$35). The first time we did them it took a lot longer but now it's pretty cruise control.

The lighted grills are DB Customz (he no longer makes the grill though) and my buddy found a guy on Etsy who makes the Toyota letters. He stuck em to the Pro grill then stuck the OEM letters on top to create the backlit look. The letters are actually screwed in so they won't just pop out with normal vibration. @BR73

    Hope this helps!

Yeah they aren't on everyone's top 5 list of must dos haha.

I use the sets you find on Amazon because they're cheap and easy to swap for when one burns out or they fade. I'm on my 3rd set since 2017/2018. They don't do too bad.

Today I swapped the Tundra blower motor for the Land Cruiser blower (87103-60560) - took about 15 minutes max.

There's an ongoing thread about this and I decided to take some measurements to quantify improvements.

My conclusions are the drivers vents are about 10% faster at max speed, the back seat is about 18%, and the driver vents seem to increase more smoothly over fan speed range.

Subjectively it feels like a big improvement to me and recommend it as an easy mod with good results.

More details on the original thread
