I did not have to contact them. My order had a status of "Processing" for the better part of a week, then it went to "Shipped", and I got an email from them with the tracking number.

Serra Toyota is a great place to order parts from. They beat sparks every time.

If you email them and ask for an eta typically they will bump up your order. That’s always been my experience.

All done. 20-30 minute job, depending on your age, contortionist skills, and flexibility. (It's an awkward position).

    Old and new
    IMG_8062.jpg

Holy shit! My old blower must have been in much worse shape than I thought. The difference in the air flow/volume between the old unit and the new unit is substantial and undeniable (by no other measured assessment than myself and my post-hysterectomy-wife sitting in front of the vents, before and after the blower upgrade). Same goes for the rear vents (Crewmax). MUCH improved performance throughout.

The new motor is virtually silent (the benefits of which are completely negated by the increased sound of the improved airflow through the ducts and vents).

I am very pleased with this upgrade so far, and it was right on time for me to run across this thread. Kudos to OP and participating forum members.

My blower works close enough to new stock I can’t tell the difference. Buuuut it’s always been loud and lower airflow when comparing it to any other vehicle. Loud enough I regularly turn it down from the highest speed to have a conversation, even in Texas heat! This thread makes me want to do the swap just because!

I just finished replacing my blower motor as well and decided to take some measurements to see how much of an improvement in air flow and to see if it is true that the LC blower (87103-60560) is faster and smoother across fan setting range.

To try and measure this I took some measurements before and after:
    • Used a HoldPeak 866B Digital Anemometer that claims accuracy to be +/- 5% (not sure if this is constant over its measurement range)
    • Started the truck, opened all vents, and waited five minutes
    • AC was set to recirculating and mode was top vents only
    • Measured vent speed at the driver's right side vent and the back seat right vent
    • I only measured once per fan setting, have other things to do, so sample size is n=1, make of that what you will
    • I did try and get a feel for the variance and it didn't seem too bad, mostly +/- 0.1 or 0.2 mph when I would take a repeated measurement
    • Took out Tundra blower, replaced with LC blower part number 87103-60560, redid measurements
Again the caveat here is this isn't exactly super controlled, not a super accurate instrument, small sample size, doesn't try to quantify the uncertainty in measurement, or address likely variation across vehicles/blowers.

Three graphs below show results, my takeaways:
    • Yes, LC blower is faster, particularly for backseat
    • In the backset at max setting, the increase was 18% - my guess is its so low to begin with anything will be a relatively large increase, but its really noticeable
    • Even up front its still an improvement, with a ~10% increase at max fan
    • The increase do appear smoother to some extent. On the driver's right side it seemed to stay more linear around 20% for each increase especially at fan speed 3 and 6 where the Tundra dropped more compared to previous speed. However this didn't seem to true in the back seat where the data looks noisy.

Subjectively it feels faster and cooler. As far as quieter motor, well I usually keep passenger vents closed and only have driver and back open, if its set to top, its fast enough where the noise from a closed vent might be more annoying, but I usually set it to mix of top/floor which fixes that.

Overall I recommend - super easy to swap and a noticeable improvement to me.

You need a girlfriend if you are graphing fan speeds.

The temperature gauge on this must be in a weird location. It's not very accurate when testing the air speed as compared to a laser gauge or anything.

For what it’s worth I never got any email or shipping info on mine from Serra Toyota. They billed me when I ordered and then nothing until it finally arrived. Sounds like it’s different for everyone.

I guess I got lucky. I ordered from the local dealers website, they were the cheapest with a sale that was going on, and it was here within days.

Dealers that may participate in these extra 25% off sales can be located through https://autoparts.toyota.com/ . Use the dealer locator in the upper right tool bar, not all dealers are part of this program. The goal is to find the closest dealer, as @nags did, that normally offers 20 - 30% off. Then, the on top of that additional 25% sale, and sometimes free shipping over a certain dollar amount (if they are not close enough for pick up).

The end of my mess is new motor & fuse in, there is more volume from the new fan, I had to reverse the wires. The fuse is a bitch to replace, it got easier the 4th time. For a '13 Sequoia Limited, the PN is 82620-0300 but that is superseded by 82620-0C030

Did you have to purchase a new replacement blower? Also, is the one for the Sequoia brushless as well?
