Need to re-stock my supplies and looking for some good product recommendations from the group and Tundras.com braintrust!

Priority on ease of use, convenience, and durability. Have a very busy job, wife, and kids so very little time to keep up with my vehicles. However I get a lot of enjoyment out of detailing.

Some background: Used to detail as a side biz for about 10 years, however have been out of the game for probably 8-9 years now. Have used up a lot of my old inventory on my personal vehicles and am now in a spot where I am trying to take better care of my vehicles again.

Not sure what has changed in the industry over the past handful of years.

    Favorite products from the past:
    - Optimum no Rinse (ONR) - use this all the time even now, great product and will continue to buy
    - Optimum Car Wax - great WOWO wax for me. Lacks durability but good drying aid.
    - Opti-seal - still use
    - P21S wheel cleaner
    - Menzerna PO106FF - super old polish
    - Meguiars 105/205

Current vehicles I keep up with:
2014 Tundra (my daily) - Truck is hammered after 9 years in New England (now in TX) and is black. Has been paint corrected once and still looks pretty good clean. Has some deep pinstriping from trails. 180k miles. Gets washed about once every 2 months.

2018 Highlander - Wife's daily. Gets washed about once every 2 months.

Let me know what you guys suggest.

The ONR, Opti-Seal, and P21S wheel cleaner are still great options. If you like those, I’d keep running with it. I haven’t tried any of the others you listed.

For a spray type wax: Myself, and a ton of other guys here really like Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic Wax. It has outstanding durability. There’s a lot of reviews and user experiences in his thread:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/griot’s-3-in-1-ceramic-wax-review.69090/

If you don’t mind the extra effort of applying a traditional wax, I really like Shine Supply’s offerings. Their Signature Shine and Cherry Silica waxes have good durability and look great. We have a 10% discount with them using the code TUNDRA10.

I don’t do a ton of polishing, but I’ve had the best success with Griot’s Boss Line of products. Others would probably have recommendations with more feedback.
Lastly, for a traditional soap CarPro Reset is the very best in my opinion. It’s expensive, but it’s concentrated and goes a long way.

Thanks for the recommendations. I am going to order some Griot’s 3 in 1 and give it a shot. I have seen quite a few recommendations for that one!

My only advice on the 3 in 1 is follow the instructions to work in Small areas. I use 2 detailing clothes. Spray and wipe with one and then buff again with a second cloth.

    IMHO
    McKee's 37 N-914 is vastly superior to ONR....and I like ONR.

If you are a Meguiars 105/205 guy, top it with #26. Then hit that with their synthetic detail spray (I can’t find it anymore but it’s in the tan bottle, not the maroon or black one.

I’m not gonna lie, and I have no idea how I got on this kick, but I’ve been using the Megs Ceramic Spray Wax and Ceramic Detailer and it is like cheating. My truck is brand new so everything is easy right now though.

Will try this as well. Had some Optimum Hyper Seal delivered yesterday as well as a re-stock on ONR and a couple of other things.

Since I made this post I traded my 2014 for a 2024 Limited Crewmax 4x4 so I will be working to keep it clean! The nice thing like you say, since its just about new I am not dealing with old paint and old scratches/damage. No more salt damage either in TX.

I have loved everything I’ve used by them.

The blue Total Interior Detailer is my go-to on the inside now. Their Quick Detailer is great as well as their glass. I’ll hopefully have the advanced graphene coming in the next few weeks so that will be on the next detail.

Thats all I use for interior. Leaves no shiny crap (which attracts/shows more dirt)

Be sure you do a full decon before applying the ceramic, and keep an eye on temp for humidity.

I’m just gonna use the spray. Paint is pretty good, truck is only a few months old. Can prob get away with a clay but I don’t see/feel anything in it, I keep it pretty spotless.

I would still do a clay mit or something at the min. Iron remover if not. Don’t risk it. Just foam the truck and use that as lube if u do clay (I would) I would also at least one step polish and IPA it so it bonds quicker

    Nitrogen filled tires!
Can't beat Adams for Micro Fiber Wash Glove and Micro Fiber Drying Cloth for use on painted, chrome and glass surfaces.

Sudsing - use Turtle Wax Eco Power Wash blended with Meguiars Gold Wash and Wax. Mix it in your 5 gallon bucket with a few gallons of warm water. Hose off the surfaces to remove loose debris and dirt then clean with the mix using the micro fiber glove. Rinse afterwards and then simply pull the drying cloth over the surface to wick the water off. No scratches, swirls or streaks left - just a 3d clean shining surface to enjoy.

DuraCoat tire dressing. Initial application requires a decent amount of time. After that, it is simply maintenance.

Soap and water after driving through mud or snow and tires will shine right up.

Probably touch up about every 2-2.5 months on both mine and my wife’s vehicles, which are daily driven and stay outside year round.
