Depends on if I run out of glue and colored paper
    So many questions...
Anyone that's had a newborn that didn't sleep human hours knows that the first year is a blur, so same rules for new trucks applies? Since we are tacking on a year that hasn't yet happened, we should also probably evaluate the INCREDIBLE amount of changes that have taken place since 2022-2024, because the must be significant to even warrant the year time frame taking precedent over mileage, clean record and maintenance. It is common knowledge that Toyotas don't die from mileage but from expiration dates...like canned goods

The dealer gave me $38500 for my 22 SR5 double cab with 51k miles on it almost 2 months ago. It had the SR5 convenience package but it was quite basic.

Basic trucks are the best. If you want a German luxury car you buy a German luxury car. They also come with a bigger engines than Gen3 has.

I traded for another basic truck that’s nearly identical in fact, a 24 crewmax and I couldn’t be happier. Its a work truck but I needed the extra room for my 1 year old.

Few years I’ll be very happy with a paid off truck. No knock to the 3G, it’s a nice truck, but I truly couldn’t be happier with my 2gen.

$600 payment is enough for my household. Rest a lot easier with the title in my safe.

Yeah, I don't get the 50% of your income thing. If it's 50% for a car, what are people paying for houses?

We aren't even close to that % and are happy with our 1200 square foot house (plus 1200 basement) and 2019 Tundra, 2020 Rav4, 2021 Fiberglass RV, all being fully paid off, long ago.

When we did have payments on a vehicle, they were in the 500-600 Canadian, monthly, for 3y.

I am here to say that I wish my truck was fancier, had the 360 camera and a couple other luxuries. BUT I won’t trade it in or sell it until the wheels absolutely fall off. I have always been one to have a car paid off and then go shopping for a new one. This time, I have no desire to get something new. Especially with prices what they are and interest rates. I just got an email from the dealer that sold me my truck (2019 sr5 crewmax) - they offered me this:

    IMG_1468.jpg

Although this is an incredible deal , I politely deleted the email

You took a snapshot of one of the worst 1.5 year periods in last 30. by 2013 the S&P was back to where it was before that started. So yes, you could get incredibly unlucky if you had just locked in your rate in Sep 2007. But historically speaking you're much more likely to do a lot better than that. Adjusted for inflation the average annual rate of return of the S&P 500 over the last 30 years is 8% per year. Would have been a lot higher if you happened to invest at the lowest point of that graph you showed. So that stat you cited goes both ways. You're assuming the worst. What if some invested in Feb 2009?

I don't know the TRD ORs with big tires in sport mode is dam impressive and faster than most cars let alone trucks on the road.

A F250 diesel might be able to do better but that is a half-ton pickup. A lot of butt hurt on this thread about magic trucks which people wish would blow up. In February of 2023, Toyota retooled and QC/QA the machine process for these engines in a letter they released. This is why my truck was pushed back from January to March of 2023. They have not recalled the later 2023 Tundras because they believe there will not be an issue with them. I return 18-20 mpgs by driving the piss out of my Hybrid.

No 2nd generation owner can say that, plus they redesigned the new Taco off the Tundra. Toyota knows they have a hit. In 10 years most on here will be in 3rd Gen and 4th gen Tundra's laughing at the 2nd gen owners.

I truly feel bad for the 3rd gen owners who bought those first couple of production year trucks. Not only were they crazy expensive before they started to finally get discounted but I don't see the trucks themselves recovering from the huge depreciation hits even after the engines are replaced.

I had a huge down when I sold my 2018 Ford Raptor at the peak of the market. I then put it down on a loaded limited with TRD OR which was under $70k at the time. The huge down and 4 year loan makes me still positive equity regardless of how many people or things want to jump on the band wagon. These trucks are still nicer than the 2nd gen and are better overall than any of the previous Tundras.

I really don't have to explain myself to any of the people on here, but they are giving great discounts on the 2024s and 2025s. I am sure many on here will be adopting them sooner rather than later. Not to mention the Land Cruiser is back and the new Tacoma. The new Toyota products are better than they ever have been.

think that says a lot about 3rd and 4th gen owners then. Do we laugh at the 80s and 90s Toyota trucks?
