After iOS 18 update, no longer switches to CarPlay when I get a text

Wondering if anyone else has an issue after updating to Apple ios18? I noticed when connected to car play , but on the Toyota radio interface it no longer switches to CarPlay when I get a text. I can hear it but no reaction on the screen

 

I'm not using CarPlay but I don't have any issues so far. Just the persistent annoying one where it turns my ringer either off or very low every time I get in/out.

 

Mine did this too. I heard the text notification sound but got nothing on screen. I thought it was just a fluke, I haven’t received another text while I have been driving yet. I’m waiting to see if it happens again.

I had mine doing funny things.. so deleted and tried to connect the phone again.. Not happening... Ended up on tech with apple.. and to do a reset on it.. like settings, general, transfer or reset.. reset network settings. then it worked

 

ftr - all that works fine on a 2020.

 

Read an article that said the ios18 is causing issues with wireless CarPlay. The “fix” is reported to be switching the WiFi connection off where it says “private address”

 

Where in the settings is this located?

Mine still doesn’t show any messages notifications after iOS18 on CarPlay

 

Anyone get this resolved? Works if you are in the Carplay app, but on music it won't popup.

 

Anyone had success downgrading back to ios17 from the full (not BETA) version of ios18?
