    Vehicle:

35 tires, 2 inch level kit
Long story short - sold my 2014 platinum and got 2023 limited. Needs some advice on ad ons to make it better.

    Now the long story:
Have kind of mixed feelings about new truck.
After one month of having gen3 I discovered few shortcomings that i fixed:
    1. Stock sound - no jbl - is total crap - kind of solved this by installing powered subwoofer - $300
    2. Gen 3 is very low to the ground- solved by installing 1.75 lift in front and 1.25 in rear $400
    3. Rear suspension is very saggy - solved by installing rear airbags - $450
    4. Stock tires looks too small in those big wheel arches - will solve by installing 35 inch tires ( ordered ) - $1600
Now issues/ problems that I don't have solutions yet

    1. Very flimsy thin plastics everywhere- ???why toyota, why ??? - have no solution
    2. No front hooks / vanilla inoffensive look of the front of the truck - planning to install black mustache grille instead of silver, lower bumper valance with red hooks, trd skid plate instead of stupid plastic one, and trd pro hood scoops and possibly trd pro fender flares - hopefully it would help my truck to look better.
    3. No handles above windows on the roof - have no solution
    4. No daytime running led lights - no solution
    5. Smaller composite bed ( its 6.5ft long compered to my old 5.5ft before and still I was able to fit more stuff in old one) - no solution
    6. No bed lights, no power inverter ( no 110v outlet ) on the bed - will look for aftermarket solutions- need advice
    7. HORRIBLE center console/ armrest - it's so uncomfortable it's not even funny - please help- is there anything for sale to solve this?
    8. Few other silly little things like super dim interior lights, not dimmable passenger outside mirror, plastic rocker panels, small winshield and rear window, uneven floor in the back, flimsy handles etc ...

What I love about my new truck

    1. I got 32 gallon fuel tank - 500 miles range
    2. 19mpg avrg before lift ( was getting 13 mpg on old one before lift)
    3. Tech - huge screen, driving assists, android auto etc
    4. Ride quality- more refined
    5. Power - feels more powerful then old nice v8
    6. Towing with it is easy - 10 speed tranny, 360 camera etc
    7. 6.5 bed in crewmax - can load longer materials now
    8. Heated steering wheel - must have in Alaska
    9. Headlights- the lowest grade headlights are amazing- much better than in older truck, you guys with more premium led headlights probably too spoiled now
    10. Seats - I did not like them first but after 2500 miles trip I noticed they were better for long trips then old tundra, did 200 mile trip in old one after that and noticed a difference. New ones feel cheaper but better for long drives, I do like them now.

Any ideas how to make my new truck ( new to me) better or fix some design flaws?

In my opinion, there's very few design flaws in the 2.5 (especially mechanically).it's simple and just works. Most of those things you do like about the 3rd gen can be added to the 2.5 gen via aftermarket parts. Tech, audio, ride height, tow hooks, cheap plastic, bed lights, DRLs, etc. All that added and will probably still pay less than a 3rd gen.

As for fuel economy, my truck isn't my daily driver. I wouldn't even consider a truck if I was too concerned with mpgs. That being said, I average 11.3 mpg on 35" tires with a 38 gallon tank

I had 2018 1794 , sold it to get 2014 platinum and do some mods. I think I had enough gen 2.5s , those are amazing vehicles but I do love steering assist in my gen 3 and some other things that I just cant add to gen 2.5. as far as mpg goes it is very nice bonus to get extra 6 miles on gallon so I don't have to go to gas station that often. Also fuel saving for me is about $2500 to $3000 per year ( I drive 24k -30k miles per year) - $2.5k is a good chunk of money. To be fair I paid $16k on top of my gen 2.5 to get gen3 so those $16k could buy a lot of fuel, lol

most likely because of bigger tires you are miscalculating mpgs. 11.3mpg x 1.08 = 12.2mpg

With the amount you drive your truck each year, it makes more sense. I average 8k miles a year, max.

I had a 2019 Tundra, great truck. Test drove a 2024 with the twin turbo engine recently and thought it was a significant improvement over the old V-8. It rides better, faster and has much better technology. Reliability obviously remains the wildcard…

I'm confused about what you meant about fitting more stuff in a 5.5 bed but said you fit longer stuff. I had a 6.5 bed in my 2 gen and 2.5 and they had less space than this one. More space between the wheel wells.... also my bed has power and lights, perhaps you didn't get the right trim model for your needs??

Daytime running lights are the headlights. On the base option headlights. Unless it is switched off in settings. Or did you mean you prefer a led marker style running light like the higher option headlights.
