I spoke to Sparks, there are 12 rotors on backorder, the guy guesses about a month, said the pads have 600 on backorder, has been for months! WTF Toyota??

    I'm a size 10.

The BBK and rotors are made for Toyota by Stoptech. The left was available for less on eBay. I am waiting for the right. I'm in no hurry as I just installed brakes I bought 2 years ago and if I go this route it will let me get the Volk TE37's I have always wanted (maybe)

So I’m pretty confident my fuel trim issues were related to bad gas, potentially water contamination. When I filled up with the suspect gas I added 20 gallons, leaving 18 gallons of good fuel. Today while driving I had some fuel trims spikes of +/- 19. I filled up and added 12 fresh gallons to further dilute the potentially bad stuff. By the time I got home over the course of just a 5 minute drive the spikes were down to 8. So that’s a relief.

I have a 1st gen sitting here (rarely used but had to have the "more accurate" second gen)

You can have the 1st gen for shipping if you want, no issues.

Is the app accurate or you actually need the device to be accurate? I actually have the OBDLink MX+ and it does that stuff also. Never used it, I guess I should try it out someday.

You need the device to do anything with the app. It is accurate, I suck at taking off, I have tons of power & grip yet can't get under 8 seconds

Hahah. As an aside about octane boosters... I was/have been hesitant to use any octane boosters. Recently, I gleaned a little tidbit of information from the inter webs (I think it was the Motor Oil Geek, actually).

It appears that 87 octane fuel is actually 83 octane fuel coming out of the pipe. Each oil company adds their proprietary blend of additives - including octane boosters - to make that fuel special according to each manufacturers specs and raise the octane rating to desired levels. I don't know why that didn't click earlier; where I'm at, 85 octane is Regular, Midgrade 87, and Premium 91 so I wondered why they would bother making 85 just for those at altitude. Really, they just put fewer additives in the fuel. One more reason why I refuse to run regular any more in any of my vehicles, even before the super charger.

My point being, I no longer think octane boosters are questionable ways to get premium fuel. Perhaps somebody can concur or correct my thinking.

I had bought these for those rare occasions that the gas is bad, or if the tank is filled accidentally with anything other then premium. It was highly recommend from another member here so I took their advise.

It could have very well just been water contaminated fuel or something. Think about it, when there is water in the fuel the octane is effectively lowered. That’s why I think it makes sense for my issue. I had both more knock than I’ve ever noticed, plus very positive fuel trims because it was injecting way more fuel to get the actual fuel content where it had to be due to being diluted with water (or whatever else it was).

It’s not a very competitive leaderboard in the sense that some of the top times are set by 6500+ lb trucks on 35s. :bananadead:

I’d imagine a truck of similar power, stock truck weight, and small tires should do quite well. Only thing that may hold you back is if your 2wd.
