    Needs more caster.

Clocking the uppers will NOT get you tire clearance with more caster, as you're tipping the spindle towards the rear for more caster. It needs to be done with the cam bolts in the lowers, which pull them forward.

I thought they outlawed squatted trucks.

I'm definitely squatted, favoring the rear around 3/4", but that was after dropping the truck, before things settled.

Thanks, I'm at a loss on the Toytecs. They're just too goddamn stiff for me, I think. They're great on whoop-de-doos. They're hell on instant hits. But that's the experience I've always had with coilovers, I've just never used coilovers to lift, only to lower.

    I like mudflaps. I don't like sling.

Yup, caster+ I think will solve, just need another ¼" forward. And thanks for that extra tidbit, you're right, and I hadn't thought about the bigger picture of where to get that caster from.

damnit I did not need to see this today. Those wheels and grill look amazing man. Are they methods? Sorry if I missed it before if you mentioned it. Did you get the 6112s on there yet? Any pics of them and ride update? Looks freaking great.

I was just thinking I’m getting bored of my SCS and wanted machined wheels. Hmm they will fit on wife’s 4runner

    Rocktrix RT111 - Teardrop Multispoke /
    Machined Gunmetal / 6x139.7 | 106.1 / 17x9 | ET-12 (4.5"). Some people are shoe heads. I admit it, I’m a wheel head.

I think it was @FishNinja thst got me looking at the brand. I got a deal, like $500 shipped for all 4 wheels a month or two ago, around Labor Day. I couldn’t pass it up. I was hoping it would be anodized “smoked” or anodized gunmetal or machined with a smoked clear coat. Instead it looks like it’s straight up machined with clear coat and they painted the teardrops with a gunmetal paint. Weird but it works.

No 6112 yet. Should be getting top hats and isolators this week. May take me a week or two to get ‘round to assembling. I need to dig up my spring compressor, I think it’s in the attic, I lost track of it when I had to downsize the shop. Worst case I’ll buy one of the safer ones from VEVOR or whatever.

Yeah, now I’ve gotta make a choice. Do I keep the gold Methods as a spare set and swap out the grille any time I put them on? Do I move the Mickeys onto the Rocktrix and keep the Methods as my spare for off road stuff? Or maybe swap the AT3W onto the gold Methods and try to sell them for $1600–1800? Those damn Methods cost me like $1,400. I’m not too deep into the AT3W, I got a good deal on them used. If I could get $1,700 for that setup, I’d be breaking even.

I will say, I was skeptical whether Discount Tire cloned my TPMS sensors, but I’ll be damned. They did. I have two sets of wheels with identical TPMS IDs, and I love it. I can freely swap back and forth. Tagging you on this point @daveeasa

My only bitch is, I’ve got a lot of vibration out of the fronts. I had to check and see if I was rubbing anywhere, brake line, anything. I feel it in the pedal, and the vibration is coming on with the volume of noise. I really prefer the Mickey’s over the AT3W, even if the AT3W are a little more comfortable.

get a wall mount. My forged cheap compressors wouldnt fit between the spring & shock body, so i had to get creative & shit was shady for a bit.

This is the Rhino Vortex rack system. Bought it for my 2.5 a couple years ago. Left the rails installed on the truck when I sold it but kept the bars. New rails only cost me $150 vs. $500+ for the rack system again.

Dunno, not a fan of putting holes in the cap. I just need to nut up & build a full length, full height ladder rack. Need to attach a canopy, somewhere to store solar panels, plus mount a light bar way up over the grass.

I think I used something similar, they do bend to the concave well, but sir has a mid rise cap, but I forgot if it has a sharp drop or a gentle curve

I have weagle’s 2883’s and I want to build new set of coilovers with 5100’s but I’m starting to not like my stock springs with 5100’s on the 2nd notch. Is the ride that much different with the 5100’s on the first notch? Anyone have this and can comment on ride quality?

going back and forth between this and the 6112’s waiting for @shifty` to get his installed to know how it rolls.

I <three mine. Bottom notch, 650lb, no lift. Dont need to waste my brakes on speedbumps. Rough roads are smooth (might have to do more with 5100 rears & 3-400 lbs of cap & wood in the bed). The truck is pretty predictable in powerslides without swaybars.
    IMG_8231.jpg

The jba high caster upper is a bit overkill at stock height, but i plan to get taller 650lb spring for lift.

As far as i’m concerned, the Kevlar is just a marketing gimmick. About 10 years ago I had a set of almost new four Goodyear MTR 305/75-16 (E load) on my old Ford highboy. I had about 150 miles on one tire before a stick stabbed through the sidewall. I got it warrantied out for something like $100. I then promptly stabbed that brand new tire 13 miles later in the sidewall again…which was another $200..kevlar my A$$.

swapping wheels/tires would give me a solid hourish to reflect on my life choices. Have my fancy patricks, and my trail steelies. A set of extra tires makes for a pretty solid table / wind wall.

Did they put Kevlar in the sidewalls? I thought it was just the tread area to make it more resistive to punctures.

Goodyears have always been the slickest compound, fastest wearing tires in my experience. At least for trucks.
