Hey Everyone! Bought my 2024 Limited a couple of months ago. Have a little over 1k miles on it so far. Received a voicemail yesterday from the service department of the dealership I bought my truck from saying that they were calling about a "recovery part" on my truck. I called back and they mentioned that they were calling for me to set an appointment to bring my truck in to recover 2 tires, and they would replace the two with new ones.

Told him I'd call him back about that. Has this happened to anyone else? Or does anyone know what this might be about? Replacing 2 tires out of 4 seems pretty sketchy. Don't know if this is some kind of recall thing or some other gimmick.

On top of that, my guide lines on my cameras disappeared on my front and rear cameras at a little of 1k miles... Read on here that others got their camera's recalibrated, so need to look into doing that too...

No answer but posting to follow. Never heard anything like this before. How would they know which 2? What if you’ve rotated your tires since then and they all have same lot #? Or if 2 are actually different and defective, they let you drive around for months with them and didn’t inform you.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous and very random. Just makes no logical sense at all.

Check the DOT date on all 4 ... clue may lie there.

I remember reading on here about either a recall or TSB for correcting poor factory alignment on some 3rd gens and replacing the unevenly worn front tires, which you may not have yet being just over 1,000 miles.

My best guess as to what this would be about. Surely the dealer could clarify that for you.

This may be it. There's a front and a back that have one date, and the other 2 front and back tires have another date.

Those are essentially the same date. What's interesting is how tight the supply line is. Tires made the 16th and 18th week. What's the build date on your truck?

There's a couple of TSBs on NHTSA website for '24s and tires being installed as matched sets.

Tires made only a few weeks before the truck was built.

So got a call back from the service manager. He said that it could be an alignment issue or defective tires. So they want me to bring it in so they can investigate what it might be. Would have been nice if they caught this before I bought the truck.

Well, was at the dealership for 7 hours today. They did the tire thing. For the camera issue, Told the service manager that the cameras just needed to be recalibrated to fix the guide line issue, after reading the fix on the forums here. Guy pretty much ignored what I said.

6 hours later he said they were on the phone with Toyota motor corp trying to figure out the problem. An hour later he said they would have to recalibrate the cameras (as I told him 7 hrs before) and would have to leave it overnight. Just told him I'll take my truck back and wait for a recall on that if there ever is one. He said it's been a common issue on Tundras and there was no 100% fix for it. Only temporary, which was the recalibration.

Got a $300 Toyota gift card out of all of this though.
