    Anyone have a pre-2018 MX4 they've moved to a 2019+ with Deckrail system?

I've had my MX4 on my '14 SR5 for about 4 years. My son is taking that truck over, and I picked up a '21 TRD Pro, and want to move the cover over. I emailed to ask about buying the necessary hardware to move it to my new truck, but Bak says there were body style changes, so its not compatible.

I've not been able to confirm this outright. Can anyone confirm if its not doable? Didn't really plan on buying another cover, but will if I must. If it is doable, I may need some assistance in figuring out which hardware is necessary.

    Thanks, all.

That's interesting. The cover on my 2015 looked identical to the MX-4 cover for my 2021. The only difference was my 2021 had deck rails. I would have changed it over but I went with a new CM and my 2015 was a DC (too long).

If your bed length is the same. I would measure your MX4 rails length and cover width. You might be surprised!

I would also go on Bakflip's website and run a item check for both of your vehicles. Take a look at the item # and see if the Information matches.

I would have loved to have kept my old cover and save some $$.

    Good luck

I ordered the MX4 with the OE track/ deck management system option but when I opened the box upon delivery the drop down brackets are no where to be found. Shouldn’t I have received them? Am I misunderstand something?

There should have been a wrapped bundle of brackets about 1.5"W x 3.5"L. Don't quote me, but I believe there were like 8? It has been too many years. I would reach out to the place that you ordered to confirm that they charged you for the brackets.....if so, tell them that you didn't receive them. Should be an easy fix.

Just got off the phone with Realtrucks (Bakflip mfr) and they told me the rails have been resigned in 2024 and the drop down brackets are no longer a viable option. The MX4 hardware will go into the oe track system and I will no longer be able to use cleats. I told the rep it’s a step in the wrong direction to disallow the drop down brackets and full use of the oe tracks. Frustrated- why would they do this?!
