Anyone ever try and to mount a second gen ARB safari bumper? Would it be too wide?

I also did the second gen taco bumper retrofit. Took a couple of hours and some welding, but with a little more poke out the front you could just bolt the frame side mount onto the tundra bumper steel and hang the taco bumper on that.

It sits a little low up front and is angled down right now, but does not get in the way of the headlight pattern at all, likely because of the projector retrofit. I will take it off and cut some material out of the inner corners so it will clear the corners of the body and I can get it mounted up another inch or so and will be basically flush.

For anyone wondering, I did respray the truck Spruce Mica. Love the factory green and I think it fits the truck perfectly.

A question for the masses...so how much do ya'll think a used 2nd gen ARB Tacoma bumper is worth? I know that's a very subjective question. There's no rust, no bends. There looks to be some surface gouges in the black powder coat. It also looks like some rattle can black has been used to cover up those scratches. Brand new the ARB bumper (ARB 3423030) can currently be found for about $1050 shipped. No doubt the bumpers went up in price quite a bit in the last 4 years, but i don't know what they used to cost pre-covid. No doubt the bumper i'm looking at is at least 6 years (or so) old...probably closer to 10?

My 2004 Tundra isn't a cream puff, so i'm not looking for a flawless bumper, but i will most likely be repainting (or powder coat) the bumper at some point. Oh, and i'll be modifying it to fit my 1st gen tundra of course. The seller is asking $800 obo for it. I don't see it anywhere close to an $800 bumper, but i am trying to figure out what a fair deal for both of us would be before i make an offer on it. I did speak to the seller on the phone, and he told me that he recently bought the truck with the ARB bumper already on it. He wants to go back to the stock bumper.

The bumper is located many hours away from me, but i have a friend who will be in the bumper's general vicinity tomorrow and he said he could pick it up for me.

And NO, there's no winch included.

Pics of said bumper that i’m interested in…

BFF and wait and go pick it up. Fair price and done.

it’s worth more than it’s actually worth because so many 2nd gen Taco owners will pay for it.

I guess it's supply and demand? It seems like all the other used ARB bumpers are advertised for less money. I also think that there's much better dedicated (as in more durable, and higher clearance) offroad bumpers than ARB. But i'm after a less offroad-ish bumper. Mainly something with lots of grill protection from deer and something to house a winch.

My friend does hot shot transporting for a living. The bumper is located 350 miles away from me, and my friend will be about 80 miles from the seller tomorrow. He said he's more than willing to drive the extra miles to pick it up for me. I think he's trying to thank me for helping him replace a broken engine in his 2019 Ram Cummins a few weeks ago...on a late Sunday night fix-it scramble.

My opinion is a decent used ARB should fetch $500-$700, depending on condition.

Just as an update, the seller completely ghosted me. No idea what happened. We talked on the phone twice and sent a few texts back and forth. Then silence when i text him for his address. Perhaps he sold it to someone else? If that’s the case, just let me know so that i don’t keep calling and texting you to see what’s going on. He was a younger guy, so maybe that’s the reason for blowing me off? Though i really wanted the bumper, and he committed to sell it to me, it’s not really a big deal to me if you decide to sell it to someone else for more money…it is his bumper after all. I’d just like the common courtesy of some sort of message that the bumper is no longer available.

    So my search continues…

Person you quoted hasn't been on here in seven months. Look at the user's profile, then look at their other posts they've made. Should find some on their for sale ad.

Any opinions/real world experience of front bumpers or bumper style preferred for deer collisions?

Not yet, but I nearly hit one on Lemmon about two weeks ago! My MO is to go up the mtn early early so I tend to see some and I would hate to ruin my ride.

    Maybe something like this:

I might try to get a root & debris rake. 60" wide is about 340lbs, so i'll need beefier springs.
