What causes timing to retard at startup SR5 5.7 flex fuel

    The ECU uses the engine coolant temp for timimg. I believe 2 set points are knock retard minimum ect of 140deg and starts adding when it hits 176deg.

    Makes sense. Cold engines don’t like a lot of timing.
