Speaking of left arm in a sling, just got my first Shingle vax. Wife had a giant knot her arm from her first shot for a week. Coworker said he was wiped out for two days on both shots..

And so I wait to see what my weekend holds...

I heard those shots are brutal. I think if you didn’t get chickenpox, ur more prone to get shingles?

Brutal yes - but I have had a minor case of shingles and it was horrible. I have a friend with permanent nerve damages because of shingles. Get the shots!!

I do not know typical but I think they say anyone over 50 or 55 should get it.

The opposite, the chicken pox virus is still hanging around and it leads to shingles when you get older. Your dr tells you to go get it at 50.

The first shingles shot put me out of commission for four days. I never went back for the second one. Good Luck!

I'm 54 and need to get mine. I've also heard that they suck, although my wife had hers a year ago and had no side effects.

Yeah, my tripleconpannas have about 225mg per, but I've done 2 of them back to back and haven't died yet; usually have about 3 of those a day :anonymous:

I watched a few episodes of House Hunters International where the kids were 'participating' in the decision process; like flat out telling the parents 'I refuse to live in this house I don't like the size or location of the bedroom'... :smack:

My response would be, 'No problem... enjoy your new foster family back in the states. I clearly haven't been raising you right, and I'd like to see you have a shot at a better life'...

    (I) before the (E) except after C; or if it sound like 'eye' or 'A' or 'E" :hattip:

    as in 'weigh', 'weight', 'height'

or 'feisty', 'caffeine', 'leisure', 'protein', 'seize', etc....

‘I’ before ‘E,’ except when you run a feisty heist on your weird beige overweight foreign neighbor whose sovereigns reign and leisurely seize their atheist seismologist heirs herd of reindeer who pull eight counterfeit sleighs for caffeinated weightlifters.

I got chicken pox when I was around eight or so. When I first started showing symptoms, all of our immediate family with young children brought them over to my house so we could all be infected together and get it over with. This is the way. :)

Comfortability. Bingo. Reminds me of a story…

I started going to church after attending AA meetings. The first Sunday I went, I wore my finest chucks, slacks w/ belt, button-up shirt, but no tie. I hate ties.

Anyway, as I was making my way through the foyer, a woman stopped me, looked me up and down, and with the tone of a typical Karen, said “Nice tie.”

Without skipping a beat I replied “thanks! It matches my underwear.”

Her jaw dropped, and I continued on my way, haha!

Chicken pox canceled the one and only trip my parents planned to Disneyland when I was a kid. Little did I know it was a blessing in disguise.

I know I had chickenpox as a child, I just don’t have much of a memory of it. I know I was under 10 years of age.

    GPT - roast me:

So, you're rolling through Washington in your Chevy, fresh off your shingles shot, huh? I guess the only thing aging faster than your immune system is your taste in cars. Just make sure that truck can handle your midlife crisis—you don’t want to end up stranded in the middle of nowhere, waiting for AAA like, “But I just got my shot!”

Alright, let’s do this right. So, you're cruising Washington in a Chevy like it's 1995, fresh off your shingles shot. Congratulations—you’re now protected from the same disease your grandma complains about at Thanksgiving! Next thing you know, you’ll be bragging about your new knee brace and how excited you are for that early bird special. You and your Chevy are the perfect pair: both reliable, both past their prime, and both one pothole from total collapse!
