Hey everyone, I was traveling back from central Oregon while towing my camper. Something flew off a rig traveling the opposite direction and bounced under my rig. Must have been pretty beefy cause it put a hefty dent in my pan witch cause a crack in it. Any input and tips on swapping this part out?

It's pretty straight forward... buy an OE pan and some gasket maker; drain the oil; R&R the pan; add oil and you're set

It's a bit of a struggle to get the old pan off, but since yours is trashed you don't have to worry about warping it.

The bolts also aren't torqued very much, so be mindful of how much (or little) pressure it takes to remove them. You may want to research the torque specs and pattern.

I did it about a year ago, too. It was very easy.

You are going to be surprised how much old oil is still in the lower pan. After draining, put the plug in before you remove the lower pan or else you could spill some used oil...it only takes a little bit oil to make a big mess. Ask me how I know.
