Seat Jackers - Have you used it?

I've been hearing about these seat jacker things that make the seats "way more comfortable" especially for us big guys.

Have you guys used these?

Not really excited to spend $100 on something so simple unless its really aweesome.

Lots of other 1st gen people use them on here. There's a ton of options too, with the SeatJackers product specifically, like custom molle panels you can bolt in between them for storage, strap fire extinguisher too, strap your strap to, etc.

There are counterfeits/knockoffs on scAmazon for less money. But then you're fucking over an American company to reward China for stealing designs. If that rides right with your conscience, by all means, do your thing.

Unfortunately that seems to be happening more and more these days. Overseas manufacturers buying and cloning popular products and selling dumbed down and/or more-cheaply produced products. Unfortunately, with little to no QA/QC, and with inferior materials. So, if you are considering cheaping out and opting for the knockoff version, I'll throw out a couple thoughts:

1. Do you think <insert generic scAmazon knockoff part brand that won't exist in 6 month's name here> will be held liable if you get into an accident and fly thru your window in an accident?
2. Do you expect the same company who creates a knockoff part to undercut another vendor and steal customers will make it to the same quality and care as an American manufacturer?
3. Desert Does It also sells on scAmazon, you can rest assured that same mainland China manufacturer is selleing their knockoff products with the legit ones, so if you buy it there thinking it's legit, it probably won't be (Buy direct!)

You're probably going to get a lot of non-1st gens giving their opinion. Quite a few of us have them in our first gens including myself, they are a quality product. I am not as sore after long drives and I don't have to adjust the front of my seat as high with them. Less pressure on my lower back. I do not have them installed in my passenger seat, and I now notice a huge difference without them.

If you know what you're doing, you can make some. Just be weary if you make something poor quality or cheap out on hardware, you might regret it in an accident.

 

Seems like leg length and seat adjustability is the biggest factor for how much of a difference these make. Anyone 6' or over in the 2nd Gens (probably 34" and greater inseams) they really seem to help out; especially in some of the lower trims where seat adjustability is limited.

I've had them in both my '08 and '21 and appreciate having them as they've reduced driving fatigue for me.

Buy direct from Desert Does It. It's a small company out of Vegas and the products are quality. Yeah, they seem a little pricey for what they are, but I've never had a quality issue w/anything from them, and their customer service is top notch.

Plus, if you don't like them, you can turn right around and sell them on the forum for almost what you paid for them. So really low/no risk...

 

I would buy a used set for the passenger seat but would have to be DDI

 

I definitely like mine. Homebrew risers.

I wouldn't mind doing a v4 out of some billet steel but I don't have the machinery to do so.

 

I like mine on my 2014.

I only have them on the driver's seat.
I don't think they would benefit my 5' wife in the passenger's seat....

 

Having had them on 3 vehicles now I can say with confidence they are my favorite mod.

 

I didn't know they made those. I just welded thick 3/8" washers on my seat frames and stuck the bolt in the washer.

 

I have to say the manual split bench in my 2000 is much more comfortable than my power adjustable seat in my 2018.

 

Just installed them.

only sat in the truck enough to back it out of the garage, but it already feels like it makes a work of difference!
