Sometimes I set up just inside of my shop. I bought a used Pixel 3 to use as the telescope controller and use the 7 pro for pictures.

    These are lights out fantastic!
The sun setting early and summer ending isn't my favorite but it does represent one positive... star gazing season is on!

We sat out a week ago in the zero gravity chairs and just looked up watching for shooting stars and satellites. Put my phone on a tripod and caught two satellites in one exposure PXL_20240812_022527021.NIGHT.jpg

Another of M42 taken about 4:40 this morning. Z10 Dobsonian with the Romer Optics "Cheater" goto and tracking. 1250 FL with 32mm eyepiece. The usual 4:02 exposure time on the pixel 7 Pro. I had a window as M42 passes between trees and took three time lapse pictures. I didn't realize how small the window was until afterwards. The first shot showed trees, the second was clear and the third had trees again.PXL_20240906_084254182.NIGHT~2.jpg
