If you use poly steering rack bushings, make sure to grease them. I did mine and they creak a bit.

I know right. I needed the depth to get in there though. It was sketch level 9, and I'm usually pretty fearless with shit, but it had me cringing.

You sound a lot like my old man with his impatience. I was using his driveway to change out my LCAs for the first time over a decade ago and because I was taking the time to cut out the CAM sleeves with torch diamond blades, he pulled me aside and told me I was taking too long as he cut the arm almost in half with a 3” roto-zip wheel and then snapped it in half with a 6 ft digging/pry bar.

Any opinions on my hardware question? Specifically lower shock mount bolt…any reason to not go with a hardware store replacement there?

I will call my local parts counter but they seem to not keep much in stock there and I’d rather not wait 3-4 days for shipping before putting this all back together.

Should be fine as long as the bolt is shanked (no threads where it makes contact with the strut bushing). If you can find a grade 8 shanked and flanged bolt you should be good. Wouldn't stress it if you can't find shanked just grab some matching grade 8 washers.

Supposedly the lower shock bolt/nut are single use. Most probably reuse them though (including me) though they often get mangled upon removal. I'm running OEM bolt and nut on the drivers side and some Lowes grade 8 hardware that matched pretty closely on the passenger side. I'm going to replace both with these next time I take out the coilovers to raise the spring perches (they are reusable).

I thought I answered already. Maybe I was answering @michael.crg on that one though.

I can grab the part number for you if you tell me whether it's front or rear.

Whatever you do, match the nut. A lot of suspension nuts are flange nuts. If it's a flange nut, you need to replace with a flange nut.

But lemme know if front/rear and I'll get you the part numbers. I'll bet your local dealership will have the parts in stock.

I haven't removed the rears yet but I'm sure they're in lousy shape, so i'd take both numbers if they're easy enough for you to access. I seem to have a hard time finding the right part numbers for stuff on this truck on my own, had to have my hand held when ordering the LBJ a couple weeks back.

    Appreciate it as always @shifty`

I'm so close to fucking selling it. Any fucking clues?
Info. Monday had a slight misfire on bank 2, and a rough idle. I pulled all plugs, color good, regapped to 0.035 from like .045/ .050. idle resumed normal both under no load and AC load.
Ran good all morning going to and from the lumber yard, and around town. Fired up to go to work, no issues. Got to work, turned the AC off and rough idle, so I observed for about 15 seconds, idled out, died CEL came on no codes found. Fired it back up no issues, and well the video explains the rest.

I did the inline fuel filter like a month ago, injector were pulled and me and my neighbor shot them into a catch bucket all seem to be firing well. Any fucking ideas?

Has it been wet or raining out? I have an issue with condensation getting past the worn out seal on top of the gas tank. Dry gas aka Heet from Wally World fixed my issue.

Just watched the video…yeah, my truck never cut out like that. It got low, but the rpms didn’t goto zero.

engines that won’t idle or idle rough are usually failure to meter air / fuel properly. Vacuum leaks cause this.

Not sure if it's dry gas. I don't know what it is, at this point I'm thinking fuel pump, or relay cutting out. I don't even know where the relay is in this truck.

Also it's been drier than a fart here in SA TX, we got some rain night before last but nothing heavy by any means. And it rained at my house last night but I was at work and it didn't rain here.

When was the last time you looked at or cleaned your throttle body? A gunked up throttle body can cause that issue although I’ve never seen it happen on a Tundra before.

Meh we all got lives man, no offense was taken, I'm a drop of water in this first gen pond. Don't expect anyone to really pay attention to my shit. I just appreciate what knowledge and help I can get from the other guys here.

New symptom though, drove it around a bit, up to operating temp and now it's like it never happened..... Starting to suspect that my PCV valve may be a gonner. It would make sense since it always had a little shutter after highway speeds at the first light. Internal pressure are built up forcing the valve to open to cycle the unburnt gasses, and the when the internal pressures back down the valve closes and won't reopen..... So Im gonna get that a hose and a grommet on order from our favorite magnet store. And I'm gonna drop the tank and do the pump Saturday as they've given us the day off for Labor Day.
