sleeping off the ground is such a luxury, you wont want to go back to a tent.

Biggest issue is that almost every time we camp, we fish which means towing a boat.

    I see the issue…
i always thought slapping a truck camper on a pontoon boat would make an excellent adventure rig. Can camp in campgrounds and on the water.

Camper tops are availavle for jet boats. Alot of the boats have bench seats that can have the cushions arranged to make a bed. Otherwise, a couple cots and a good pad work great.

That is the ideal situation, pull up on shore and set up camp!

Depends what your style is. Lots of guys run all day, play in eddies, maybe take a break for lunch. Their boat is what the day is all about. That gets expensive in fuel and maintenance.

For me, a jet boat is transport to a location to to fish, hunt or camp. I'd run it for 2 - 3 hours max then it sits. In the lake, you run a kicker or bow mount electric so run costs are negligable. My friend does this style of use and a day's fishing maybe costs $100 in fuel if he changes locations a bunch. Not much different than a day trip with the truck.

That would be more my style as well, boats are for chilling imo. Like any toy, it only costs money when you use it ;)

Boat on top of the tent trailer. Or a truck camper.

I have a 12ft jon boat for flyfishing small trout lakes that can go on the tent trailer. My other boat is a heavy 13ft aluminum with a 9.9hp outboard on a trailer. We want a 16 - 18ft jet boat though, not putting one on the tent trailer. Lol.

If I were to get a truck camper, I'd need a 3/4 ton minimum to handle the weight. Our Gazelle T4 with cots works fantastic for family trip where we tow a boat and at a fraction the price.

I never would have bought a tent trailer, but when I get given one is top condition for free I'm not gonna turn it down. Lol.

    Shes a Beauty.
you see campers towing boats in Sask all the time, they must allow it there because hills do not exist.
I get around those disasters on wheels as quickly as possible, I just assume some “welder” glued the hitch onto the trailer with grandads ac buzz box and 20 year old 6011.

Just a heads up if you’re looking for a fair deal on a Canadian made skid plate.

OK Expedition in Kelowna is having a 15% off Labour Day sale.

Just ordered a plate for my truck. I’ve seen them in person and they are well designed and made.

    That is nice.

If anyone wants free TRD mufflers and pipes, let me know, they are free if you pick 'em up or pay for shipping, they are bit cut up in order to work with my headers, so it's not a direct bolt on, ideal if you are handy.

This is what replaced it, I can't wait to hear what she sounds like:

Anyone here running Falken Wildpeak AT4W's and had a chance to use them on Canadian winter roads? I'm considering them for my next tire and it's a brand I have never run before.

Correct, I don't run winter specific tires on the Tundra. Other vehicle yes.

I need to record a better clip, but it's a mixture of LC500 and C8 vette.

My dad has been running them for a couple years and he says they’re great . Just keep in mind we live in southern Ontario so our winters usually aren’t anywhere near as bad as yours .

Thanks. Does he tow? I’m a bit concerned about tread wear while towing which I do a lot of in the summer.

I'm coming up on 4y with AT3W (E-Rated) in Winnipeg and they are holding strong, all year use, tow 3 travel trailer weeks a year, haul dirt/rocks/gravel every other weekend for house projects.

When the 3's konk out, I'll look to replace them with AT4W if they are in my price range and 3 peak snowflake rated etc.

We run 5 and rotate them regularly, outside 24/7/365. I believe I had about 11mm tread remaining last time I checked.

I have them on my truck, I'm pretty sure they're AT4W. Might be AT3W, I can confirm later. They do pretty well on our winter roads up here. Not as good as the studded Nokian Hakkapellitas I had on my 1st Gen, but good enough I haven't felt like springing for a set of Nokians for the 3rd Gen. I'm actually planning on putting a set of Wildpeaks on my 1st Gen when I get it back from my dad this fall.

I've got Cooper AT3 on my 2007 and after 3 winters am seriously disappointed in them. I have new to me
2010 now and am looking at tires. But these are good reviews of a tire I wasn't really interested in initially.
    Thanks.
