Man, I hope my dumbass sticks with it that long. I'm kicking my own ass for the last few years of payments. I just want to pay this off and be done. Guess I'm officially old.

This is what happens with the mentality of a for profit industry. Our health care isn't care at all. It's a greed driven system to drive financial success for everyone in the system. Doctors, big pharma and the insurance companies. We as patients lose care and concern for the most part.

Yes and no. It's not as simple as "capitalism bad" or "rich bad" or whatever the shitwits are complaining about these days. Can't really get into it as it's a no no topic, but it's much deeper than being greed driven system.

This is also true. And I'm also not saying there aren't doctors who care. But our health care system is more about profits than it is about providing care. And this isn't a new concept since o****care came into play either.

    "greed driven system"

dead on. When you consider the GOV is paying ~75% of all medical claims. and Medicare/aide is setting the prices in every instance
.....well, except boob jobs. those are still properly priced BECAUSE the Gov won't pay for them.

    greed...examples..Ozempic/TRT/CPAP

in all 3 of those very different protocols, if you go into the respective Dr office, you WILL leave with a script.

it's all about the $...and the simple fact that Insurance is paying.

look at how TRT & Ozempic have exploded in the last few years. it's silly.

you can draw a near circle Venn Diagram of the Ozempic/TRT crowd and Those are the fat lazy folks that are parked behind an Xbox screen for 8 hours/day or sit at a computer all day or sit on the couch with their phone in their face.

both of those parties will have very low T and carry excess body fat...simple lack of activity.

Do Dr's lecture you to walk & exercise for a few weeks before they will prescribe? NO. they whoop that script.

and the point about TRT shutting off natural production. This is what my initial comment was concerning. all theses 20-30yr olds jumping on TRT will forever need TRT. it's a Dr's dream come true.

or you could tell the lazy bastard to do something physical, sleep well, and eat decent. all of which today's youth suck at.

Ok...some folks have a medical need. I get it.

fact - look at how Ozempic is positively affecting inflation....it has boomed medical spending. crazy, right.

does the lackadaisical lifestyle of today's population cause Low T & obesity....YES.

did the Dr's recognize this & push insurance to pay for it? YES

    and here we are.

an observation - most men can naturally increase T by:
    Lifting heavy
    sleeping well
    eating well
    lowering stress

    or

    simply take a shot.

in today's world of instant gratification, guess what today's man chooses?

now - if a dude is >60 and wants some vigor back in his life...get on T. it works. most old dudes were not producing T anyway. they became sedate. T will get them off the couch.

It’s also caused by endocrine disruptors like plastic and other pharma drugs. Some argue fluoride in the water supply is a culprit as well.

what’s really interesting to me is, my doc told me 75% of guys who walk into his office in their 40s have low T for their age, while around 25% of guys in their 60s have low T for their age.

his theory is the guys in their 40s went through puberty at a time (the 1990s) when the use of plastics in our food industry went through the roof, but we hadn’t yet eliminated BPAs, phthalates, or whatever other endocrine disruptors have been shown to leach into our food and water from a plastic container.

Dudes in their 50s and 60s had already completed puberty by the time they got hit with those endocrine disruptors from plastics, so it didn’t mess them up as much.

Whatever this forum told me to do

Because all the plastics evolved about the same time as Xbox/social media...it's hard to quantify what is the culprit. not arguing....just too many variables.

however - the 40yr old having low T is indicative of a poor lifestyle.

if a dude just sits there and plays a very high stress video game & looses sleep because of that...well, that is the trifecta of shitty lifestyle.

now, when that same dude hears from his video game buddy about TRT, BAM....another script.

now these lazy dude are on T....imagine the hormonal imbalance in the human machine!!!

the long term affects will be catastrophic. but, who cares...Insurance pays....meaning our premiums go up because of these selfish/vain/ignorant shit-wads.

    same on the female side.....

    her: I'm fat
    Dr: here's a pill

now these females are losing weight.....muscular weight! becoming exceptionally unfit.

    remedy:

    lift weights
    walk 2 miles a day.
    eat well
    sleep damn well.
    learn to minimize Cortisol (stress).

    eating BBQ helps as well.

    the rub:
I can take care of me & mine....and my insurance premiums go up because of all the shit heads.

base insurance premiums on individual claims....and watch healthcare snap to attention.

Yeah I’m not removing all the blame from individuals’ and their chosen lifestyles. Just saying there may be some external factors as well. We are far more sedentary than ever before yet overstressed as well. Screens wreck our sleep.

I’m sticking solely to the remedy you listed. I am lifetime drug subscription averse as a general rule.

A friend who is several years older than me has been on T for four years. He’s 50, jacked, and lean. Said it changed his life early on, but he’s starting to feel like it’s not doing as much for him as it used to, and his BP is way up. He’s donating blood every 3mo.

It’ll be interesting to see long term what the effects are, especially for the vast majority of people who are on it and don’t truly need it.

Over-prescribed for $$ just like ozempic.

Btw y'all should see the sheer amount of ozempic face on music row. it is quite staggering.

Need a pic of ozempic face as an example so I know what you are talking about. I've heard the term, but don't have a reference for what it means.

Picture the deep lines and slightly saggy skin of rapid weight loss. Temporal hollowing.

But many (esp women) also have had work done, like fillers in their cheeks. It makes the fillers super obvious.

I learned something new today from the surgeon
“Percocet is oxycodone with Tylenol. They are the same medicines. If you are having a significant amount of pain you can take 2 oxycodone at once for a couple of doses. Use plenty of ice.”

Those both are ones I want nothing to do with!

I'm ok with a vike, when I screw myself up. They worked good when I had my knees swapped out.

Those others listed above scare me. I know my family has a long history of chemical dependance and abuse. I'm not gonna risk getting the same boat many of my family are in.

I'll tough it out by dulling the pain, not totally removing it.

You touched on something I also forgot to mention but completely agree with. Doctors don't provide care where you walk out with solutions like you need more excercise with cardio or heavy lifting. Or you should eat these foods less and these more. Or ways to manage stress... It seems all too common that what they do provide is a drug that makes you a customer for life. No different than a crack dealer with the way they write some of these scrips. I also restate that this isn't a blanket statement where you can't find good care, but the system as a whole is a profit driven industry not a care driven mindset. When profit supercede care it allows insurance and pharma to set the tone for how care is delivered.

Well, I can kinda relate to your adventure. I was I. The MonTana mountains about 8 years ago on the back roads, came in a bend a little hot with a loaded bike, lost the front in some deep gravel and luckily I ditched the mc. I was on my smaller BMW F 650 twin that went 25 ft down into the forest. I landed on the road. Got some ATV s with a winch to pull my bike up. Some damaged plastic and ego. I was able to duck tape things back enough to get going. Shifting was not good when it got hot as the shifting shaft got damaged a little. I used to ride my bikes I5, left to work at 4:30am. Dark and dry tho. Someone’s horses got loose and happens to jump infront of me from a bush that happened to grow to the side of the pavement. It should have been cleared more. Totaled my 1150GS. I rode the bike bale home, no front brakes, not much throttle. Handle bars were at 45 degrees.. Ended up going to emergency a few hours later. Long story short…. Spleen self healed, 4 broken ribs, detached lung. 9 days in hospital. I sold my other bike a couple years later. I was full protection gear, boots, composite nickel gloves and full face helmet. The gear saved my ass. Be careful. An artist at my wife’s gallery a couple of weeks ago hit a deer, he passed away from his injuries. Watch out for the animals…. I considered myself a safe rider. Glad to hear you can still run, and at a fast pace.

Good leg workout. I started pushing intensity, but remembered to back tf off so I did, thankfully. My wife wrapped up my quads for me so I was able to some some occluded leg extensions to get that extra blood flow

Got the bandages off as it’s been 3 days.
He made three incisions, instead of two for some reason (my guess is he had to go through another area to clean out the arthritis or the inflammation)
