Has anyone done this yet that would like to share? Is it the same process as the last gen? Will the paper clip in the OBD work the same?

The 2/2.5 gen is simple drain, fill and shift through gears.

3rd gen has couple extra steps after drain, fill and shift through gear. Air bleed oil pump and reset ATF thermal degradation estimate.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
Do it cold - drain the pan, measure what comes out and put that exact amount of OEM back in. Repeat once each week after for 3 weeks. All good for another 30K if you tow or 60k if not.

Thanks, makes sense to me if both fluids are the same temp the drain and fill with same amount can't go wrong.

The resetting the thermal degradation counter isn’t new and it’s done through TechStream. It’s only supposed to be done when you change more than half the fluid.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
I'd just not worry about it since I knew the fluids were fresh, or pay the Stealership to do something I would not trust them to do.

I'd say to be safe have 5 qts on hand. It won't go bad so if you buy extra it will keep until you do the next drain and fill a few weeks later. I will have to look in the book and see what it says the capacity is - usually have one more quart on hand than what the book says it needs for total - ie 12 quarts capacity at 3 drain and fill would be 4 quarts per drain and fill IF 4 quarts is the measured amount per drain. Thus have an extra quart on hand.
