I don't have a lift yet but think I will do some 6112 on the 1.9" setting eventually and leave the rear alone (maybe do 5100 or 5160 back there but no lift). I want to go ahead and get some Ridge Grapplers mounted to my stock TRD OR wheels in 275/70R18 before I do my front lift. Anybody have pictures of that tire size on stock rims, lift or no lift just pics of that tire size. Will I have rubbing at stock height and when I do pick the front up will the tire size still look good or too small? Thanks.

No rubbing on stock height and still looks good with a little front lift like you are describing. Check my build thread for pics of that tire size, links in sig.

IMG_20161228_211520_457.jpg IMG_2186.jpg I've done some mods since these pics were taken but this is with a 2.5in sus lift in the font and 1.5 block in the rear. All other components were stock. These were 275/70r18

I've had the luxury of being good buds with a tire guy and he threw on 295's which were the biggest at full crank with my 2.5in and no other mods. Hope this helps.

Before you ask, it may seem higher because of the front clearance but that bumper was modded for that. But they fit nicely

I don't want to say yes and be wrong but I'm about 99 percent sure. They're just a 33 variant

You'll be fine. That's what I'm running with stock suspension. Initially I didn't think I had any rubbing but after a few weeks I noticed I slightly rubbed my front skid plate. I rolled the sides in about a 1/2" and that took care of it.

Here are 275/70r18's on mine. Stock suspension, no lift. No rubbing, you should be fine. Should still look fine with a small lift like you mention down the road. Plus, you won't have quite the performance hit on acceleration and gas mileage a bigger tire would have.

I had them on stock height with 0 issues.
Currently have 6112s on 3rd setting and 1.5 inch lift shackles on the back.

You'll be just fine. I have a 3/1 and 275's. They look way too small but would look perfect with stock suspension to a 2.5 lift!

Very slight. But noticeable. Lotta extra rubber. But worth it.

This may be a dumb question but I don't know anything so dumbness is relative: is it necessary to recalibrate the speedometer and or adjust shift points with a move to even a slightly larger than stock tire such as 275/70/18? It seems to me even a modest size increase will throw off your odometer after awhile since the circumference of the tire is larger than stock.

Also, any long-term transmission issues to worry about with jumping up in size from stock? The Toyota engineers put 275/65/18 stock on for a reason - I trust them and assume they did that for a reason.

I'm sure they did do that for a reason prob more so for mpg. If your not comfortable with it don't change them. I have 275s now and I don't have any issues it is a slight bit thirsty but it's not bad at all.

I run 275/70-18 KO2s,and I don’t think the 4% makes too much difference as far as the speedometer goes, 60 on the dial is 60-61 on the gps, with the tread on KO2s I would imagine they are like new OEM tires when they are about 1/2 worn, My truck came with 255/70-18, but didn’t stay on long enough to wear the molding marks off,so can’t say for sure the speedo was perfect from factory.
On my other truck, I did see a noticeable mileage hit, compared to street tires of the same size, but that’s what the 38 gal tank is for. They do improve handling a bit compared to the stock (Bridgestone Duelers),

That's almost the exact setup I'm looking at right now. Did you pull the front mud flap? If so, did you have to because of rubbing? Do you happen to have a shot from the front or rear to see how much they stick out of the wheels wells if at all?

    Thanks

Front mud flap is still there....I’ll get a side shot in a bit when I go to work...think they stick out a bit but not bad...

That's perfect. Exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the pics

How are you liking the Ridge Grapplers so far? How are they in the snow and rain? Notice much difference in ride quality or gas mileage?

BTW - I love that color. I'm pretty happen with the MGM on mine but given the choice, I would have gotten Cement too!

The ridge grapplers are great so far....quiet....no howl on the highway....tracks and drives straight.....wet tractions and snow seems good so far. I only noticed a very small drop in mpg going from the factory tire to these...although I did only go from a 275/65 to a 275/70....so not as big a jump as most others that have plus sized wheels.
