Anyone else ever experienced the fake guys on youtube? As to where they rag on Toyotas new V6 twin turbo engine for months about how bad it is and to not buy one etc etc. they are overpriced, the build quality is not there.

Then a few months pass and they buy one? As in a sequoia. If you question them on it your comments get deleted and then they say they do not sensor there channel that they can take negative comments.

It's like a sitcom, Untamed motors.

While this is part of it, I guarantee you those views don’t hardly pay anything. You need hundreds of thousands of views to crack $1k on a video. Rather, I think the strategy with YouTube is that every little bit of $$ it pays helps.

My theory is, he has connections at dealerships, maybe just one dealership, where he is a preferred customer and locks in a good “flip” price super early with a deposit. Our own @DrZoidberg made a bit of cash for a while there flipping new vehicles this way.

It’s kind of funny; lots of these YouTubers have been ragging on the V35A for quite a while. One could say Toyota’s sweeping recall where people will get new long block engines actually provides some validity to these YouTuber “sky is falling” guys. :notsure:

The irony is, the appeal of the Tundras he loves is that they last forever, and you generally don’t need to replace them for 10-15 years.

This is what blows my mind in the 2nd/2.5 gen forums—guys trading into a new one every two or three years. This is the one truck where that makes no sense at all.

“I traded in a paid off 5.7 Tundra for one slightly newer, paid closing costs, re-upped my debt, and bought tires/lift all so I could have the exact same truck except with CarPlay, which I could’ve got with a simple aftermarket head unit.” :bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:

People pen the most outrageous video titles and then 10 minutes into the video you realize you just wasted 10 minutes of your life. People do this crap all the time. I've found a couple (like only 2) good Toyota repair channels and I stick with them.

If you really want a good laugh though, people build perpetual motion machines and call them "free energy machines". And the people in the comments section are absolutely captivated by them  Entertainment and views, I guess. idk, off topic, but funny.

I don't get how people turn a blind eye to it, guy bashes the V6 Twin turbo for months then buys one in a sequoia. Go back a few months and he got rid of his new tundra V6 twin turbo because it sucked.

Untamed got his feelings hurt when Toyota invited everyone to the new gen launches…….but him. His channel has grown since he’s shifted into more political ranting and rage bait. I liked him in the beginning of the pandemic and his content was good but got stale when he bought his 50th Gen 2.5 TRD pro then got unbearable when it started going political.

Now I watch Raiti, redline review, straight pipes, and Doug if I need a review

I had only been watching for a few months but in that small amount of time he would sell and re-buy the same thing over and over as you said but when he was going to sell his V8 Tundra to help free up money to buy a new house only to keep it buy a new house then he goes out and buys a new 4runner and sequoia that he was bashing for last few months for the V6 turbo, overpriced, cheap build etc.

    I unsubscribed.

    I'll look for the others.

I loved his rant about how bad the economy is. It's so bad that he bought 2, 2024 Toyota's and a new Dream house. I'm waiting for him to start missing his old house so he can buy it back at twice the price. I called him out, and he responded that he was talking for "other people" and he said he wasn't really speaking about himself.

Truth. And it’s so much of it. And filled with noise and statements of opinion masquerading as fact — yet effortlessly verifiable from official sources if they’d be bothered for even a minute to do research before spouting off for views.

Influencing is the most bullshit of “professions”.

I am not on youtube but I agree, the 3rd gen is fugly, cheaply built, unreliable and extremely expensive for what you getting. I am glad I didn't buy one for that price. I got a brand new gen 2.5 and enough money left to throw a supercharger in there. Best decision ever. I now have 2 Tundras gen 2 and gen 2.5 in my stable and I keep smiling when I pass a 3rd gen in my supercharged 2021 :)

Lets not be naive or emotional here. The new Tundra is either love it or hate it, nothing in between. I happen to absolutely HATE it and even if it was 30K I still won't buy one. That's that and is nothing anyone can do about it. I have an opinion just like you have one.
