2nd key FOB wait time

Just got my notification for key fob. Purchased February 5th and got notified today August 23. So a little over 6 months.

 

Got my notification today too, 1/24 build date, purchased 2/24.

 

I wonder how quickly they’d remedy this if about 1000 owners from here on tundras.com filed complaint with NHTSA. It’s clearly a safety issue that if I loose one key I couldn’t use the truck.

chip shortage is clearly a farce.

 

Also received notification today, 1/24 build purchased Feb 29th.

 

How do you receive notification?

Just checked my build date, 1/24 and purchased on May 30th. I'm patiently waiting. My 10k mile service is next week, I guess I'll inquire then.

Well, Just checked the app, apparently I have a remedy available.

 

Truck date on sticker was 12/23 iirc. Purchased in March, got fob earlier this week.

 

Got mine April still no feedback. How was y’all experience Toyota customer service call?

 

I got a notice through my app. Programming took 10 minutes.

 

It seems to be almost entirely on your dealer and how much they'r eon the ball. At least that was my experience. I was getting some service done and only asked about it because I didn't want to forget about getting the second key (i did not yet receive the notice from Toyota yet at the time). The service person said she'd ask about it. I got a shuttle to work and that was it. Later I got my ride back to the dealer and there was a second FOB still in the package and programmed for me to take home.

 

Got my key FOB programmed today. It was approximately a 7 month wait.

 

I purchased mine on March 2nd (built 2/24) and I am still waiting on my 2nd FOB.

 

March 23rd here and nothing.

 

Toyota Canada response today. I’m baffled how they cannot know.i’m giving up and buying one when they install the comfort plus package in two weeks(I cab heater, trickle charger and Bluetooth dongle), for this -20to-40 degrees Celsius in winter here. Absolutely dislike running the vehicle in the am and I have a 12 min drive to work. It doesn’t warm up.

 

4months, still no 2nd key FOB

 

Wife got a Lexus back in June, it took 2 months to get her key, but they did say that August was the last month of keys going out for Lexus. I'm guessing they got it all caught up, which is good news for Toyotas waiting on keys. Also, my Tundra was built in August and I recieved both keys at time of Purchase. So hopefully, they will get Toyota caught up soon. One key is a PITA!

 

It is nto so much a pain in the butt for me, they didn’t tell me anythign about the second key being delauyed/etc until after I went to pick up the truck and I specifically asked them if it came with two keys as there was issues with the fobs. The lack of communication/notifications/etc from Toyota is not acceptable IMO. I have to plan out jobs and know within days or if things change update schedules etc and send them out. Nothing from them. Not even the build sheet/key delivery.

Anyways, my rant is over I already bought the new key, now to just wait and get the third which will likely be next week not that I bought a second one.

Rec'd my 2nd key FOB in Sept 2024.

 

Phase 8 Key Fobs available in November, just released, my local Toyota Parts Dept (Parts Manager) called to let me know. So may want to check your app, email or letter in the mail.
I have nothing yet, but a few folks on FB did this morning have it pop up on the app

 

Purchased at the end of May, just got a notification today.

 

A little more than 8 months to the day that I bought my Tundra and I finally got the notification in the app. Now my fob wont be lonely anymore

 

@pillie3 and @jt13077 - What are your build dates? Found on door jam, white sticker, as mm/yy.

 

02/24 For me, bought Feb 23rd

 

Bought mid June, just got notification today

 

Bought my Tundra mid July 24 and just received notification today, 4 Months roughly.

 

Finally got notification in the app that the second key is available to schedule with dealer. ~7.5 months. Truck was built 02/24, purchased 03/24.
