    Some stuff
Way back in another life, when I was a full time photographer, I used to do a lot of surf related work. I was lucky enough to be living down the street from Surfer's offices and have a number of publication credits that I'm pretty proud of.

Living in CO, I don't miss the water all that much as I've been able to replace it with other things that mean just as much to me. What I do miss is the full time photography and doing work that I am super stoked about.

Anyway, thought I'd share some old surf imagery. We'll start with some stuff from Samoa.

I'll see what else I can dig up. Anyone else into photography either as a hobbyist or full time?

Those are incredible photos. CO has some beautiful scenery that I'm sure it would be amazing to hike around and shoot. Plus, you could replace the surf action shots with some snowboard/skiing pics!:transformer:

A lot of things came crashing down all at once 6 or 7 years ago and I had to find something more stable for full time work. We had to sell our house and start over. So we came to Denver. I've been slowly trying to rebuild the studio here but my day job has me on the road 50-70%. Hoping to get the photography back to a full time gig in the next year or two.

I'm still shooting a lot. Still doing action sports but trying to focus more on high end portraits and commercial work. The pay is better and there is no 'bro' network which I got very tired of. I also spend a lot of time wandering downtown Denver street shooting.

I'll dig out some other work that I do.

Thanks. Definitely lots of cool spots around. For action sports, I do mountain biking, skiing/snowboard and climbing.

I'll dig out some climbing images that I have from Telluride.

You've got some great images on your site. Great work. My studio site is here. It's still weddings, families and seniors. I don't have enough commercial work to switch it over yet. Been working a lot with dancers and dance companies in the area. Completely different for me and the shoots are much bigger. Being a director is fun.

I've got a few things planned for this fall down at the Great Sand Dunes. Really looking forward to that.

Day job has me on the road quite a bit. Not so much international travel these days. Mostly small towns. Some larger ones. Got lucky in Memphis and was there for Bike Night. That was wild.

One of the things I do for a creative recharge, or just to see things differently, is to street shoot. Sometimes I'll take the big Canon but most times I do this with film. Either an old Canon F1 or my favorite camera of all time, the Hasselblad 500cm. When I'm street shooting, I find the Hassy to be a conversation starter and not off putting. Most people have no idea what it is. I love that it is completely mechanical. There are batteries. No meters. Just an incredibly satisfying clunk of the shutter.

A couple of months ago, I was at the zoo with my wife and youngest daughter. Our older two had been gone all summer and we were looking for something to do. I grabbed the Hassy and two rolls of HP5. Piper wanted to shoot too so she got the F1 and a random roll of 35mm that I grabbed out of the fridge.

The Hassy is a camera that knows no age. The pictures that come out of it now are just as sharp as they were 40 years ago and as they will be 40 years from now. I need to use it more often.

Thought I'd share a few more images.

I'm in San Jose for the week. It's been a few months. Last time I was here, I wound up photographing a riot. That was crazy but thoroughly enjoyable. Not sure it'll get that crazy this week but I find that this place has a great divide. The dichotomy is fascinating to me. More pictures will be coming throughout the week. I'm playing. Shooting without thinking. Staying on the move.

Question for all ur photographers. I currently have a cannon rebel t3 that i cant complain about. It has taken well pictures. But im really tired if the big ol body and lenses. What do u guys recomend for an upgrade? I want to stay under 1k. I use the camera for just basic family pics and my kids sport activities so not looking for super high end stuff but something good

    Fantastic shots!

I'm finally shooting a little "professionally" on the side, but focusing specifically on the real estate market as it's a great niche in our area.

I do elevated pole shots as well (this is my house from a 12' elevated pole).
