Why wouldn't a factory warranty cover a radiator?

I don't know much about 3rd party warranties, but for the most part, everybody complains how the 3rd party warranty companies are always trying not to pay and to blame the issue on something else.

In contrast, the factory warranty is almost always there to take care of you, with correct repairs and done correctly at the dealership.

I think you're very much mistaken by saying that 3rd party warranty is better than the factory warranty

 

A radiator leaking wouldn't immediately cause your engine to seize though, it would have to leak all the coolant out...and then you would get a coolant light...then eventually the car will overheat and then seize. So a failed radiator wouldn't immediately cause an engine to fail

Hello everyone. Been reading this forum for a while. I have been trying to get in touch with Jerry to purchase an extended warranty since the beginning of July. I can’t get him to respond to my emails or calls with a message. I have 30k miles on my Sr5 so I’m running out of time to purchase the warranty. Any advice or intel is appreciated.

Ashamed to admit that they got me with their extended warranty (Assurant). I am pursuing the Toyota warranty now since it was never offered to me. I will most likely be cancelling the Assurant for a refund and going with Toyota once I get pricing back and compare coverages.

Anyone ever had Assurant before and could comment on how they are to work with?

The dealer I purchased from. I usually say no to all add-ons, but with the issues still cropping up with the new model, I decided to leave the warranty. Unfortunately I didn't do enough research, as it was a spur of the moment purchase (I was previously just going to get a newer 2.5 gen than I already had) and the dealer did not offer me a Toyota warranty option and never mentioned I could purchase later.

 

Yes! I texted Jerry this afternoon, he called me this evening, I purchased the 5yr/125k mile Toyota Extra Care Platinum warranty. I'm thrilled I found this forum and his info! He gave me a great deal and fantastic service! 1/3 of what the local dealership quoted me today and 1/4 what another dealership in LA quoted. Call or text Jerry! 620-664-8844

do you intend to get rid of it 2 yrs after the factory warranty?

 

thanks to those folks that edited posts/quoted posts to remove pricing. its to keep the folks that give us these great pricing out of toyota.usa sights. i know about a decade ago, jerry got banned from out of state sales by toyota.usa

some dealers like to troll the forums and then complain to toyota.usa how certain people are undercutting them by 50/100% on pricing, which eats into their cash cows.

only thing toyota.usa can do to a person undercutting other dealers if someone post pricing.

especially the pricing matrix which is a big NO NO for toyota.usa

 

@PileDriver glad you found coverage! I saw a message Jerry is off on Wed and Sunday.

@nodak67 bc my truck is 1 year old and I already have 35k miles on it. I'm in the road alot, 5 years is plenty I think. I could have done a 4 year, but I didn't want to cut it that close and it was not much cheaper at all. The 5 year just a little more expensive than 4 year, I'm just glad about the 125k miles!

 

you do realize the 5 yrs is actually only 2 years. the first 3 years are covered by factory warranty. and buying a 5 yrs warranty at 35k doesnt start the timeline from the point you buy it.

the fine print says the 5 yrs/125k started from the in service date (when you buy it) for a new vehicle vsa.

this means you have to buy the new vsa during this period, otherwise you cannot after either of those condition are met.

so if you buy a new vsa, it over laps the oem factory warranty as stated above on the 3/36k, so your 5 yrs becomes 2 yrs (or in your case 4 yrs)

and at the rate you are putting mileage, you will hit your cap in about 2.5 yrs.

Do these warranty’s cover bumper to bumper and powertrain? (Engine, transmission, etc). My used 24 tundra has 35k miles on it and I am wondering if this would be a good idea to do. Never bought an extended warranty before. Any help is much appreciated.
