I didn’t even think Toyota did frame replacements on the 2nd Gen Tundras…

    Welcome from NY.
:( That sucks. Wonder if a good welder could save it.

At least you found the 10mm socket.

    That sucks.

Did you just buy this or did your mechanic or whomever does your oil changes just never mention that you had a lot of rust? It takes a long while for it to get to that state....

Yep didn't happen overnight. Why I do my own service. OP have vehicle inspection?
A welder could scab plates on it. Might be sketchy.

Time to part it out and use the proceeds to buy another.

    I'll take the wheels.

You have a very nice front yard, a Mercedes-Benz, and didn't do any rust proofing of your truck's frame while it was one piece? I can show you a guy with Volvo, who did the Tundra's frame outside and inside while it had 0 years on the clock. Frame is immaculate.

The guy lost his sense of smell even before COVID hit, mainly because of sniffing rust prevention vapors and other automotive shit related to engine/transmission rebuilds, though.

Yea dude I live in Northern AZ and just because I salt my driveway 5-10x/year, I fluid film my vehicles all annually to prevent any rust.

If you're in the rust belt (as I suspect you are) and haven't been doing any rust prevention (as I suspect you haven't), this is a fairly predictable outcome.

How do people expect Toyota to create metals that defy basic chemistry principles?

Rust proofing. Volvo does not rust for 20+ years, so can Toyota.

Not a total loss, just needs a frame swap with rustproofing and regular maintenance this time.
