I’m looking to put on some sliders for my 2023 Tundra crewmax 5.5 and so far I have three companies in mind.
    1) CBI
    2) C4 Fab
    3) RCI

Anyone got one of these ? In open to other companies as well. I’m mainly looking for sliders that are not too aggressive on the degree/angle. That way im able to use it as a step.

I have a 2024 Crewmax, 5.5 bed. I put RCI sliders on and I’m very happy with them. Install was fairly straightforward, and no drilling required. I also installed their skid plate combo (mainly because I wanted their cat guards). Really happy with those as well. I don’t know how the 2023 kits fit, but the 2024 was really great.

If you have a local weld shop they may or may not be cheaper via no shipping. Otherwise get whatever is cheapest to you and looks like the angle you want.

RCI, they are beefy. Install was easy with two people and a floor jack.

i just seen some videos on those. They look good and their welds are immaculate. If only they weren’t too expensive I’d be all over that .

I don't have a Third Gen, but if RCI's sliders for your truck are anything like mine (I assume they're almost identical), they get my recommendation. Very stout construction and like you said, they usually have some sale or deal happening

Are they really only making sliders for Crew cabs? Having trouble finding ones that go the full length of the vehicle in Double Cab. Odd to just leave out half the trucks in the market

I believe they are making them for double cabs too.

They do but they end short of the bed and dont offer any protection/step etc. Not sure if its due to the frame change that nobody makes double cabs properly with the body lines?

How do the CALi raised slider play with skids of other brands? Are they all just plug n play or are there certain known combos of bumpers, plates skids that do/don't play well with others ?

For instance I like the Cali sliders, talon skids and RCI bumper. Will all of that flow together on a build or am I stuck staying "brand loyal"

    Thanks

    You should get CBI.

Here’s the thing. I thought they were being a trash company by not sending instructions for a $2500 bumper. But in reality they know by not sending them you will be forced to learn so much about welding, powder coating, bolt sizes and torque specs, and the general makeup of your frame, body work, and wiring harnesses in order to install their product.

They look out for you. They want you to be better.

Well CBI just fell off the list for me. I was pretty solid on my decision for RCI slider but the Caliraised loooks like a wider step and have the option for rhino liner steps.

I used to pivot my 4x2 off trees when I accidentally off roaded for the first time log ago, so I feel like I should get the proper armor for something I'm likely to do again.

I persononaly don't like the 3D paint jobs with "organic" pinstripes

I am very happy with my C4.

The instructions were not the clearest, so I used most of the other brands for a clearer explanation. Below are what I observed.

    1. Cbi does not wrap around the frame in the same fashion. I like the around the bottom up the side style, vs the outside top and bottom. I like the flat step of both, but c4 has a super fancy kickout!
    2. C4: My chosen one. Not the best instructions. It's a simple job, but better instructions would be nice. Ex. Step one is install "nutsticks", but you have to remove step 2 before you can do that. The optional drill hole is not the frame, just a welded support. I did not want to drill the frame. The square style of the major support looks stronger. Also shows nice welds throughout.
I used fishing line to keep the "Nutsticks" with a safety line. I don't fish so I messed up the knot and the piece fell I the frame (RIP). They only shipped bare steel. I like the metal/weld look, so I used CRC® Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor.
    3. RCI: Coolest looking instructions, but the nasty ass truck that was used should not have been a 22+ with that crust; I live in Maine (salt, snow) that RCI truck is crusty!. Has "fancy kickout". I liked the round tubing of C4 over RCI's square. RCI also does not attach in the very front like C4. I like the extra attachment points up front where the damage happens. I was not also sure of the "string system" they used. I did loose a piece of my C4 into the frame, but was fixed easily.

    4. White Knucke: sweet kickout. Instruction verbage was the most step by step, but the pictures were not as good. Did not care for mounting style, more crip around frame vs bolt through it.

    5. Call raised: Out - only attaches side and bottom. If i bought $1K I would hope the instruction video would show what I really bought, not a table of brakets and bolts.

    Thanks!

    Chris

You asked for the best brand of sliders. The best are Westcott, bar none. Now if you don't want to pay for the best, then go for one lower down on the list. But the best brand is Westcott.

Support small businesses. He builds them and installs on your truck for you. Granted he’s in socal, good excuse for a trip. Built 4 sets for me: 2 Tacoma’s, 1 Ram 2500, and my RCSB Tundra.
