New to the tundras.

Just got my fathers 2016 Limited with 75,000 on it. I remember when he bought he told me at the time he ordered it they only had one black truck in the region but it had TRD stuff on it. All I can tell is that it has a TRD rear sway bar, the TRD dual exhaust and the air box says it has a TRD filter in it. What else am I looking to expect on it? I know it came with the TRD stickers on the back but he told them he didn’t want them on it.

 

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! It sound like it came with the TRD Off Road package, which is NOT the same as having a TRD Pro. Either way, it's a Tundra and will serve you for many years to come if you take care of it!

 

TRD's of that year should have also included Blisten Shocks/ upgraded springs and a Front Skid Plate. I think it may also have a skid plate on the gas tank and potentially a small lift. On the lower trims, it should have had special black rims as well, but not sure how they handled the limited/ platinums.

I hated the skid plate and was always close to throwing it away... The none pro plate does not have a cut out for oil changes and needs removed to access the filter.

FYI, The exhaust and the rear sway bar where optional add-ons and not included with the TRD package.

If it had the bedside stickers, it probably was ordered with the basic TRD package.

It’s a dc limited non Trd by the wheels so it never had the stickers

 

That's what I thought to based upon the rims/ grille, but his first post said it included the rear stickers, but his dad had them removed.

Unfortunately he passed a couple weeks ago. My mother told me he wanted me to have his truck.

Truly sorry to hear of your loss.

Best option I suggest: Look up the VIN online for both the original window sticker and for similar manufacturer's equipment lists. You'll be able to clear up the way it came off the factory line.
(Perhaps someone here can provide some good links on this. (I don't have free ones for Toyota handy.))
