You have a part number for the clips?

Do you lose the ability to turn on each map light individually? For example, can the passenger just turn theirs on while driving down the road sort of thing? In the video each light has a button but it looks like its just for changing the lights from white to red.

You can turn them on individually. It's like how the current map lights already are. You just push into the actual map light and it turns it on. The separate button you see is just to change the red to white light.

So you can have one on and one off. You can even have one be red and the other be white.

That is what I was hoping to hear! Did not see them push on the actual light in the videos I watched. They just would push the button to change the light from white to red and back. Good to know its just like the stock setup!

Edit: I assume the back light works the same then as well?

Yes, but the back light has two buttons.

The button towards the back is to just turn the lights ON/OFF while driving (outside of the lights being on due to the doors being opened). The button in the front is to change the lights red/white.

Oh and there is no way to turn only the left or the right side on for the back dome lights. It's both sides on or off. I don't remember how the OEM was like since I rarely used it

Thanks for the quick detail! The back had a button for each half. So a light for each side of the back of the cab. I dont think its that important to be able to split them like the map lights so no biggie that the Meso ones dont do that.

:sawzall:Did you play it safe and use a smaller drill bit first as a pilot hole, before the correct ending size bit ? Would hate to order whole new piece. $$

Like a smart man, yes I did. Though I think even if you did mess up somehow, the damage would be very inconsequential. The plastic parts that you drill into are just casing and they are mostly all hidden away with the top cover.

Just checked the lights at night time. THEY ARE RIDICULOUSLY BRIGHT (maybe too bright.........)

Yeah... so a lot of my frustration just came from the disconnection clip parts. Make sure you are pressing the clip down while pulling.

my perspective, I'd prefer 2 step white lighting. 1st, default, would be similar to OEM. Hit a button and the sun come out for when you have to find something.

Agreed, I don't see a lot of use for the red. Specially if you have this setup.

Red is nice for pre-dawn during hunting season. You don't have to stand in the dark for a minute or two for your eyes to adjust before walking in, when you get out of the truck.

And order shipped. I was just going to get the back lights, but when I clicked cart, it offer a few $ off the Map lights too.

They were here when I got back from a business trip. I installed the back lights since that was the easiest. And they were super easy. The on-line video has you swap out clips, but those were included. 5 minutes tops.

The LEDs are a bit warmer than factory. Much brighter too. The black of the unit does not match OEM, but it isn't bad. My OEM rear lights allowed for left/right reading. I don't think this will bother my dog too much, but if you had someone in the back who just wanted a personal light, that isn't an option now. They can turn it all on now, but that is a lot more light.
I do think you want to do the map lights too so that the color is the same throughout the cabin. I notice light temperature, so I'll finish the map lights this weekend.

I just put these in on my 2023. Is it me or does the back light only illuminate when approaching the

Is this normal? All of my lights are not coming on when I approach the truck…..only the rear. The fronts only come on when you open a door….

Change your lighting settings start your truck and then change them back. That's the first thing I would try then maybe reach out to meso.

Same here. I just received my kit Friday and installed today.

I also tried changing the interior light settings. No worries.

I am starting to think this is a harness issue if two of us have the exact same problem…

Hmmm I’ve never noticed if my stock platinum lights up when I approach at night…. Ha I don’t think they do though, but sounds like they should. Guess I’ll check tonight.

I just sent an email to Meso about how there are functioning.

I did find a video on Youtube of the night function of the interior lights and both the front and rear factory lights do come on during approach, not just the rear solely.

    Let's see what Meso says.....

I noticed the same thing. Almost seems like they are really dim with the Meso and once I open the door they ramp up quick.

They are brighter. I almost wish there was a diffuser on them since they seem a bit directional and focused. Overall much brighter.

We havent had reports of this yet. Did the factory lights illuminate on approach ? Ours should copy factory functions.
If you dont mind and have the time can you send me an email at Travis@Meoscustoms.com with your order number so I can look into it.
