How can I sell some side steps on this website if I cant create a post in marketplace?

 

You're not allowed to sell until you've established yourself as a member. If you just want to hawk stuff there's plenty of other places on the web for that.

You have to get 50 legitimate posts before you can sell on the forum.

 

I read the rules. So it takes 50 posts to be a certified member! Just having a sign on doesnt make me a Tundra person.

 

It's a time limit as well. It's to keep the site from being overrun with folks that have no interest in engaging and are just trying to sell their stuff.

The forum is full of some really great people and they're worth getting to know. Lots of fun, shenanigans, and genuine help to be found.

 

So if Im not buried in 10 inches of sand or under the hood of my truck 5 days a week; Im not a legitamate member. Im here to see, learn and find like everyone else. Guarantee someone on the site can use these side steps Im trying to sell. Helping another member out, is that not what we foster here or is it only for fanatics?

50 quality posts. Shit posting to get to 50 will earn you a vacation.

 

What he is saying is that you must be an active member of the forum. That doesn't mean being on and posting 24/7, but fairly active. There have been a few that have gotten to 50 posts, sold something, and then never seen again.

Short answer: Everyone plays by the same rules. You're not special.

 

Shit posting, or fluffing, is going into a bunch of threads and doing short nonsense/non helpful posts.

Stuff like "nice" or "good luck" posted in 40 posts over an hours time is obvious post inflation to get to 50. That gets you a ban from the mods. Sometimes it's just a few days, sometimes it's permanent if it's obvious spam. Moderator discretion and all that.

 

I guess you can call me guilty of that! I dont think so, anyway. Good club, I met a few peeps didnt go to the camping trip but hey I still have a nice Tundra, and I will keep reading posts but to build up to 50 on BS....not my style. I just as well let the side steps sit on the side of my yard collecting dust than to try and reply 50 times.

If you read the rules then you got it,,, it’s just that simple!
This is a pretty common thing in most forums it keeps people honest “ most of the time” if you don’t like the rules then go play someplace different. Everyone on here had/has to play by the rules.

Welcome to the site! Post up in the “New Members Introduction” section to get you started on your Tundras.com adventures. You get 2x post counts in there, they do that to help get new members established.

 

Thanks for the tip, member for 4 years doesnt really make me new. Maybe not the ideal fanatic. I do have other stuff to do than to be on this website 24/7, but hey at least you didnt barge in here with your overinflated ego to try and stomp on someone because you have permissions to be a moderator.

I will just keep reading, not overly entertained with adding my nickels woth to stuff just to build legitimacy.

New side steps I put on this morning are nice though, sorry I didnt document every last bit of information on how I did it, why I did it and to please the masses.

 

What new steps did you install? Any pics.

Also, their responses came across okay to me when I read them. Your initial post you asked how.. well you can’t, and they provided all the reasons why and the rules. Then you asked why, that’s probably when it derailed lol.

Look at it this way, this group has established a great community, to which, many people enjoy and the staff and greater part of the members don’t want to see that ruined or overran with spam or untrusted/uninvested members selling things to other members.

All the respect to you if you don’t have time to invest in that and follow the well-established rules. But then you’ll have to find another marketplace to sell your stuff. My .02 anyway. Hope you decide to stick around, sell some stuff and get involved.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Look at it this way. Would you trust someone you don't know, or just barely know, enough to buy something from them over the internet? If so, try Craigslist or FB Marketplace. The rules of this forum are there to protect the members from those who would take advantage of the forum and scam them. Not saying you're a scammer, but that's the reason for the rules.

As for this site, not gonna lie. It's THE NICEST forum I have ever seen. Easy to read through, search, and tons of good people. The rules keep things well organized.

Trying to navigate other forums is a pain compared to how well run this one is. I'm spoiled when searching Can am forums or other interests I have.

Our 3rd Gen dudes are legit weird though .

 

I have no complaints about this site Someone would appreciate the side steps at half price. They wil hang out in my yard until they go to City of Phoenix bulk trash and that will be the end of it.

It wont stop me from reading posts.

Im just not so fanatical about my truck to post everything I do to it.
