And sausage. Lots of sausage. Only state I know that sausage is integral to their BBQ. What is it about Texans loving to stuff sausage down their gullets? Hmmm….

I'd rather tell my buddies my sausage blew, than tell them I blew my sausage.

I'm glad I haven't seen anything too crazy in 6 months at the free-standing ER.

Haven't so much as had to confront an unruly individual. Just gotta ask people to move their car from the firelane sometimes.

The wanna be tough guy hero in me wants some action. But I'm not complaining one bit about the peace.

Here's the thing ... and maybe @208Tyler would be interested to see this, since he posted up the 48lbft value.

The '05-'06 FSM has a value discrepancy, I assume it's a typo but then again maybe not, I've been calling it a typo at least. Note the screencaps here from the 2006 FSM, 1st one shows 59lbft. Other two show 48lbft.

Until I really started digging just now, I was thinking the higher number is correct. But I question it because if you look at the text instructions for LBJ replacement, they show 48lbft there, and none of the text instructions show 59lbft (that I could find, at least).

I'm still sticking with 59lbft using Toyota p/n for flange bolt/LBJ bolt 90105-12316. My suspicion is, the LBJ with a dust cover that's locked in place with the boots uses a longer bolt that calls for 48lbft. The LBJ that is secured with screws uses a shorter bolt that's 59lbft.

I think the 1st page below is correct for my truck using the part number bolt I just provided. I suspect the 3rd page below is correct for anyone using a dust cover that's held in place by two of the four LBJ bolts.

I used the bolts for the rubber covers I think…. So I went with 48 ftlb. They are definitely goodntight, I’ll check them periodically. I have no thoughts they will fail at that torque. They were very tight, and I honestly worried the torque wrench wasn’t clicking when it should I was pulling it so hard. It it clicked, and they are toit

The OEM Black bolts with washer 90119-10933 used for applications with protector is torqued to 37 ft-lbs. The Green flange bolts 90080-10066 and the Red flange bolts 90105-10505 are torqued to 59 ft-lbs. Black boltsare the only ones that can be reused. Torquing the Black bolts to 59 ft-lbs will cause them to yield.

ARP's too according to the spiker engineering data.

"Based on these results, our top recommendation for LBJ bolts would be the Toyota Black Bolt w/Washer (90119-10933) or the ARP Bolt (673-1004). The Black bolt excels in its incredibly low friction coefficient, which leads to a silk-smooth installation, and allows the bolt to reach 10,000 lb of preload at only 37 ft-lbs, significantly higher than many other bolts could achieve at 59 ft-lbs. It also provides the highest confidence in the preload generated at the applied torque, and does not have much degradation with reuse. The ARP bolt is the strongest of the group, giving it very high margin between installed torque and yield torque. It also does not degrade much with reuse."

Throwing this link out there for the nerds.

Replaced my PCV valve and hose on my 2000AC. Noticed the ventilation hose #2 on the right side valve cover was split and the hose PN 12262-0F010 is discontinued. @shifty` provided me with the PN for the hose on his 2006 PN 12262-0F021 which is still available and I ordered. Unfortunately the newer hose is approximately 1/2 inch ID on both ends. The hose on my 2000 was approximately 1/2 inch ID on the air box side and 3/8 ID on the valve cover side. I was able to adapt the newer hose to my 2000 by sliding a 1 inch piece of generic 3/8 vacuum hose over the nipple on the valve cover and then sliding the larger hose directly over that. The hose was a tight fit but stretchy enough to fit and make an airtight seal. Here is a photo of how it turned out.

Dark suggestion, but nope. Heavily from Polish influence. Know from family experience. Mom's side of the family is all Polish, my great grandparents came over and settled south of SATX. Lifelong Texans.

Polacks flooded over in the mid-1800s to Panna Maria a drifted up from there, as far north as Cibolo but most of mine are in Seguin now. I literally used to spend every other summer and Christmas in Karnes City at my grandparents trailer park growing up in the 70s/80s, there were still Polacks everywhere.

But don't trust me on this one. I'm sure you'd see something supporting my family's history if you search why there are so many Polacks in TX, unless they've been lying to me my whole life.

Well... Texas was colonized by Slavs and Germans long before WW2.
Half the hill country is named after Germanic names. The other half are Spanish names.

    Boerne, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, etc

There is a lot of fun history of the people who came to KC and what the did, when they did, etc. The town is now really "integrated" maybe more than other big cities, but they still celebrate their history in different ways.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_Hill_(Kansas_City,_Kansas)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strawberry_Hill_(Kansas_City,_Kansas)

Polish Hill was part of a larger area neighbored by Strawberry Hill etc. That is still about the only place to get true "Eastern European" bread at the SH Bakery. Was wondering @shifty` if you remember the location you went to in KC?

Big influx of Russians pre WW2 as well over in Topeka. All that remains there is a deli, that is quite good.

KC, the original "Sin City" . . . great place!

Welp, popped this joker once again. I think this is the 4th time?

I've noticed the pattern. It only happens if the truck is dead-cold, and I exceed 3k RPM. Always within 3-4 blocks of driving, with one exception on a rather chilly day when I made it 1.3 miles to the interstate and managed to hit every green light on the way there. That time I popped the code jumping on the gas to merge into a spot in traffic.

100% the engine isn't knocking whatsoever, I hear nothing out of the ordinary. But it seems totally random, I can never seem to FORCE the damn code to throw, even if I replicate the process. It's happened three times accelerating from two different stop signs in my neighborhood which are exactly 2 blocks from the house. I'm positive there's no rodent damage. But I can't really test the friggin knock sensor because it's under the gd manifold.

Pulled the skid plate off to repaint and noticed the diff drop had some surface rust. Pulled it out and replaced it with one I bought a year ago.

EDIT: If you want it pm me. Free to local guys or you pay to ship it (probably right at $10 bucks).
