No shit, well thank you posting here so hopefully you can save someone else the headache you had to go through. It blows my mind that people with such low integrity can stay in business in the age of the internet. I imagine that you left some sort of Google or Yelp review stating how negative your experience was?

It blows my mind too... the owner did say he recently took over the business, I have to imagine that's why they have had good reviews on Google so far. This one hurt extra because I expected top notch service for the money based on those reviews.
I don't have Yelp and been procrastinating on the Google review, this happened with ToyAuto Masters a while ago. If I left a bad review for every cheating pisspoor mechanic shop it would be another job but I'm leaving my review here for my fellow Tundra brethren at least.
Another bad experience: ToyDoctor on E Mississippi Ave, Denver, rude old lady running the show and refused to give me a printout of my alignment specs until I insisted, and printed out a half-faded sheet barely legible, claimed to not have an email (haha ?). I still have that sheet of paper to prove it. Young kids at the front desk were super chill kinda rolling their eyes at the manager, no idea why the old bat was so cranky but definitely not a "car person" at all, too busy cradling her mini poodle in her chair (I shit you not).

    Good experiences:
Jacobs Service Center on Leetsdale, alignment done a while ago no drama.

Christian Brothers on Arapahoe, been using them to get done the more intimidating stuff and they're good, provide pics of everything and are informative. Took the truck there out of my way after a crash and they fixed her up. Funny enough, recommended by the very same DiscountTire guy.

Interesting to me how neither are Toyota specialty shops against conventional wisdom. Knock on wood they'll stay good but I'm still avoiding taking to mechanics unless I absolutely have to. Discreet apartment parking lot repairs has its limitations.

Unfortunately this story is all too common. Good mechanics are hard to find that's for sure. And since we're on topic if anyone is ever in summit county, Summit Auto Group is also a shop I'd stay away from. Long story short I was out of town, wife takes my 06 to them and they diagoniois a bad starter. She okays the work, they perform it but when the truck is picked up it has a valve tick. I get home and see that my engine cover plastics are missing. I go into the shop asking where my engine covers are, and why I now have a valve tick? His response, you can't prove that. I ask, did they even clean the area around the manifold before they removed it? He then asks me to leave. I stay around and tell incoming customers stay away, tell them SAG is a bunch of hacks. He tells me I'm going to call the cops to have me removed from my property. I dare him to do so. This game lasts for about 30 minutes before he can find my engine cover in his shop. Everyone I know in summit has since been convinced to stay away from him and his shop. Recalling the story still pisses me off. I had to have a valve job done to get it right again and that shit ain't cheap.

It may be my ignorance about the architecture of the 4.7, but how the hell does changing a starter lead to a valve tick? That alone tells you how fkn bad those guys are

Intake manifold has to be removed to replace the starter.

I am still a fan of Tru Automotive on Santa Fe and Mississippi. They all drive their trucks like trucks, and they serve a lot of the off-road Toyota community. My $.02

Concur. Had a similar instance with a tacoma. Paid to have everything flushed, timing belt water pump. Led to one thing after another with the wrong water pump installed, now leaking oil, then leaking coolant. I should have done nothing and trusted Toyota haha forgive me for being proactive. That was a long time ago. Now I do it myself or have the dealer do it because they dont bock when I call them out on nonsense lol I know they aren't guaranteed to be good..

That's an understatement! The MW Overland Expo has over 300 exhibitors. My highlight was talking with the Z1 Offroad folks and checking out their SC'd Frontier up close and then hanging out at the NISMO exhibit to see latest offerings. Got a friend who helps with the Black Rhino wheels exhibit. Each year there are new vendors with some cool stuff. I bought a 10ft Adventure Board. See Adventure-board.com. Based out of Littleton CO

For anyone wondering if you fit a Tundra down the trails at Rainbow Falls near Woodland Park, the answer is absolutely yes

also, Quarry (FS 350.B) is rated as a 6, but my truck is not very built and I was able to get through just fine on the spicy lines. Either our trucks are insanely capable (possible) or the trail is slightly overrated (likely)

Apparently the Bahia Method 305s were exclusive to Discount and TireRack and are being discontinued so got them for $150 a wheel.

    You are correct - Overrated.

I would say, trail difficulty in Rampart seems to be based upon wheel chair accessibility. Try any single track trail labeled black diamond and you’ll see what I mean :D

Had to drive to the big city down the mountain today for a girls basketball tourney. Lo and behold it was held at Horizon High. I graduated from Northglen and remember when Horizon was built to alleviate the overcrowding we were experiencing back then. Small world to have to go into what became a huge rival for us in Adams county. As always our team summit girls got destroyed by the co petition down there. First game lost 46-6, second 38-27

I almost did. But I had errands to run and we had to be back up to summit by 4 for volleyball practice. 2 sports athletes schedules consume me sometimes.

edit. Basketball season and the tourneys are just getting started. I'll keep you in the loop next time I head down and coordinate better.
