Today was a great day. I finaly ordered my dream parts and did the suspension right for a change. Finish photos to come, she's getting an alignment as I type. That 173 foot lbs on the UCA bolt was terrifying. :benchpress:

I had to pay for the trailer update but I had 97000 miles on the truck. The other one was under warranty or recall but a long time ago. Maybe there is still a recall on it because it’s safety related with tss?

New A/C condenser. Pulling a vacuum. Now it's a waiting game to see if it holds vacuum over night.

If it does, in goes $130 of 1234 yf refrigerant.

You definitely want to be leakfree using this spendy refrigerant.

Got a Sony 9500 ES bundle from Trail Grid Pro that arrived yesterday. Installed it today. So much better than OEM. And god, what a PITA it is to fish the microphone wire through the dash.

Time to play some catch up. Trying to sell some parts, but need to meet a quota on posts first so get ready to catch up on all thats been done! Recently changed the AC compressor. Was cooling fine, but original started to make noise. Easy peasy remove and replace job.

Why use that instead of 134?

Finally got around to exchanging the transmission fluid and coolant. The transmission fluid just needed a drain and fill; it was really dirty and required a little more than four liters. I refilled it with 4 quarts and 7 ounces (roughly). As for the coolant, it was pretty clear but I removed about 9 liters. Unfortunately, I couldn’t refill it completely since I only have 2 gallons and will need to run to the dealer tomorrow to get another one. I'll likely use about half of it. I used the radiator drain and the passenger-side engine block drain. The engine block drain was full and removed most of the coolant.

Good shot of the rigid radiance amber glow. 30 inch bar behind the bumper, pods in the factory fog locations, and on the ditch light brackets.

I went back and forth about that. I just figured it was built with 1234yf, might as well use the same.

Edit: I need to edit my avatar. I have an 08 as well as a 21. Sorry about the confusion.

I fully expect the price to come down rapidly. I'm showing no leaks so far, so if I need to top it off in 2 years, I don't expect it to be as painful.

The only thing that cooler air does is it is more dense and mixes with the fuel cooling the mixture making more power. The engine is still working as hard as it's going to

Just pure luck. When I decided not to buy the 3rd gen I started to look into gen 2.5 and found this brand new gem hiding in some Texas dealership waiting for me. It took some social engineering to get it but I did.

More power means less effort. If it makes a 100tq at 2000rpm normally and the mod takes it to 120tq at 2000rpm, it’s taking less effort to move the weight as it has more power to do so. Same with gears. Lower gears equals less work on everything so it should be more efficient. I’ve found that to be true in the 4 different vehicles I’ve geared. All of them gained .5-1mpg going to lower gears due to less work required to get to speed.

I 100% agree that appropriate gearing will get the job done far more efficiently. I am also a fan of going a little higher ratio when in doubt. A couple of extra revs is a better situation than lugging an engine.
This is part of the reason that I rarely tow in overdrive.
