I'm currently on a restaurant date with a female boxer.

    She's going for the ribs.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I think I've mentioned this before...

there is a guy that rides his e-bike along the main road into our town.

    I paced him at 42mph.
    no helmet.
    no pads.
    next to traffic

    don't be that guy.

Yup. People have the illusion of safety/lack of danger because "it's just a bicycle" when in reality it's a slow, light weight motorcycle without any of the safety features or lights.

CO just legalized lane filtering the other week. I’m waiting for the road rage to kick off. It’s bad enough as it is, and I’m sure this will only amplify it.

Stella was that way up to about age 4. She would pick up anything she found on the floor. Multiple times she found safety pins and would walk around clinking them around in her teeth. I had to sneak up on her and pounce super fast because she'd immediately try to swallow whatever she had. Like a toddler that put everything in their mouth for 4 solid years.

LEOs need to be on alert and throw the book at the assholes in cars that try to block or swerve at bikes, and the assholes on bikes that try to do it at speed or when unnecessary.

He’s probably 5-6 now and still does it. Rips the toy into pieces, and then loudly chews on a piece or two

Whatever this forum told me to do
under those circumstance - I totally agree.

    however;

<stepping onto my soapbox, arms crossed>

when a road cyclist is in the DMZ, it chaps my ass.

cyclists need to stay in their little zone. that space was allocated for a reason. if you ride the line, expect shit to happen.

and all this gets tougher to put up with when the cyclist men are dressed like ballerinas.

make no mistake - I know they possess more rights than cars on the roads, but they push the limits. hence, the dashcam comment.

and why, for the love of Pete, are you doing aerobic exercise right next to the tailpipes of 1000 cars? that's just dumb.

and...if you are going to exercise, why pick the easiest one? get your skinny ass in the gym.

    deepest apologies.

FTR - I don't usually have trouble with motorcyclists.

it appears that once you've resigned yourself to ride a motorcycle, you know the risks.

    most ride quite defensively.

    I'm in a mood.

I stretched when I just used the word generally.

    here's why.

I'm going to tip-toe on this one.

the only time I have issues with motorcyclists is when they are demographically challenged. these folks appear to not possess the consequential thinking necessary to properly command a motorcycle.

I guess it's quite easy to obtain a crotch rocket?

I'm speaking to this from a standpoint of actual observation. not being critical of any particular demographic. just stating facts.

old white dudes on Harleys are always the most cautious.

Whatever this forum told me to do
and why do certain folks extend the rear wheel length of these crotch rockets?

    it looks:
    1. goofy
    2. like it would be detrimental to steering
    3. make the rear brakes useless.

I'll add to this by saying that a good portion of pedal cyclists that will rant and rave about having just as much of right to occupy an entire lane, etc. as a motor vehicle (citing MV statutes, etc.) are the first MF'rs that will run red lights and stop stops; they'll fail to yield, fail to signal, etc...

Why is this a problem.... because most states that allow pedal bikes the same freedoms as vehicles also require them (within the same statutes) to follow ALL traffic laws (as would a vehicle) when riding on a public roadway; yet when one of them is hit by a vehicle... it's not treated as a vehicle vs vehicle collision, it's generally treated similarly to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision.

Meaning... it's assumed the vehicle is in the wrong and the pedal bike had the right of way, and this is always how the incident played out...
