Blubonnet. I copied the harness in your pic. Looks like pin 4 is incorrect. It needs to plug into the black wire on the marimoto. Will I'll Re pin these when i
get home and give an update.

Basically for polarity. Hi and lo need to go into red wire on marimoto and ground in black on low.

I think your ground on that 8pin white plug is in the wrong side. On the grey low beam connector, it looks like the green wire. So the green wire on the white headlight plug should go to the ground on thomas' diagram. check that i bet it is

I just flipped the blue and green on my harness and it works like a charm. Definitely need to make sure that the polarity is correct. Thanks guys it works perfectly now. I will post some pics later

Thank you Thomas for all your help with the wiring. I couldn't be more happier with these lights. They look so much better in person.

Looking good. The time and subscription to TIS was definitely worth it to put this all together.

Love this thread - very informative!
Question 1: Does anyone that has installed the 2018 LED headlights have any comparison to a retrofit in terms of the brightness and overall road lighting?

I am debating between ordering a Retrofit with the Lexus or Acura HID bulbs versus the 2018 LED headlights. I have a platinum, and I prefer the single horizontal LED DRL of the 2014-2017 model years to the double on the 2018. However, if the light output on the 2018 is just as good as the HID retrofits, I may go this route anyway.

Question 2: Are the turn signal bulbs the same in the 2018 headlights as in the 2014-2017? I have LED front turn signal bulbs on back order from VLEDS, and if I do the 2018 headlights, I am unsure if they would still fit.

    Thanks in advance!

    Jim

I just switched from a Morimoto mini D2S 4.0 4500K retrofit to the 2018 LED headlights, for reasons I can explain later. I’ve got some output shots of those and I’ll try to position my truck in the same spot later when it’s dark and take a few LED output pics. The HID’s were brighter than the new LED’s and cast a more even light output, but I was paranoid that I was blinding everyone around me.

If it’s the VLED Triton V6’s you have on back order than you would be all set using those in the new 2018 Headlights with your existing sockets. The 2018 Led headlights use a different socket and a 7444NA bulb, but the beautiful thing about the Triton V3’s and V6’s are their ability to be reconfigured to fit different housings. I have a set of V3’s in mine and they work great

First is LED headlights only, second is LED headlights and Morimoto LED fog lights third is HID retrofit

@foxconn4 Can you make the LED DRL wire up (minus the Morimoto motocontrol and flasher module) for SR/SR5/Limited/Pro models that need that DRL addition? If so I will buy from you

There is word that TRS is looking into making a harness for this as well as another member who is a lighting vendor on this site. It shouldn't be long before these are available again.

IMG_2272.jpg I can say that the 2018 are way better than the platinum headlights. Not only are the daytime running lights way better but the low and hi are night and day better. In my opinion this is a must upgrade for all 3rd gens.

Since I'm electrically challenged, I cannot wait to see if TRS gets a harness going. @foxconn4 you could probably make some extra dough whipping up some harnesses now I bet in the meantime. I don't have experience with TRS, but I can't imagine from what i have seen the harness quality would be drastically different.

I can't remember if this was posted somewhere. Did we get the part numbers to make an adapter for the turn signals so we don't have to repin the ones in the truck?

I know people said it's easy. I would still like to make a harness.

    TIA

    I used these parts

    2- Toyota 90980-11020- 3 pin female plug

    4- Sumitomo TS/SL Female terminals CONN-11856

    2- Toyota 90980-11607 3-pin male plug

    5-Sumitomo TS/SL Male terminals CONN-10069

    9- Sumitomo HM/MT/TS wire seals CONN-00145

    3- Sumitomo MT/TS/HX/SL cavity plug CONN-100550

The male 3 pin plug is hard to find, needed to be special ordered and took a little while to get in

@thomasbus337 The HID retrofit is considerably brighter. Do you think the Triton V6's (650lm white) are going to be just as bright?

What would be a complimenting turn signal bulb to order for these 2018's? I might as well order them now while the headlights are sitting in the garage.

    Thanks

TRS may be making a harness. Someone may or may not have spoke with them today. :D
