Just a plain Magnum 2650 with the standard hardware and tune. I plan to keep it stock, simple and I don't wanna go crazy on it.

I've looked at doing a blower but I don't really have 15K lying around. BUT will be more than happy to accept donations for said blower.

Actually is cheaper. I paid 8K for the blower and 2k for the install.

Last year in Nov I paid 38K for a brand new but 2021 old Tundra so I basically saved what, around 30K from buying a gen 3? I had enough money left to throw in a super charger and still be substantially less than buying a 3rd gen :)

I told the wife we need an $80k 3/4 ton truck to deal with the 7 hills we struggle with every year dragging our camper south...or let me install a $6kish supercharger that will do the job for a lot less money.

I got the green light to include the supercharger on next year's budget.

Now I just need to decide which one to go with.

Edit: wife knows the reliability of the 5.7 so we grabbed one of the last '21 trucks. This is the one that will get the SCer, not the '08.

Scenery itself and certified dark sky zone is worth the trip. Crazy how different the night sky is out there.

Some of those lakes are quite specific on when/where the bite gets started. One year we couldn't catch a thing until 20 minutes before dusk. Then we'd limit out on lake trout in 30 minutes.

Nice lookin smally the kid got. Bet he had a good fight from the canoe!

Oh really? I read through the supercharger page and it seems like all the stuff you need plus labor would come to ball park 15 or so. Maybe that was to get the maximum amount if HP/TQ.

That's great man! Good for you! Yeah, it may be more of a NEED than a want. I mean....you never know when you'll need 500 HP.....

So that brings up another question. Will the stock transmission and running gear handle all that extra HP/TQ? I know the rear end is a 10 point something ring gear so that should be fine but the rest of it. And I have 4 wheel drive, does anyone know if the transfer case and differential is up to handling the added fun?

Got the FN wheels and tires mounted!
    Toyo AT3 33"
    Icon 2.5" front lift
Icon RXT Rear 0" lift (Having gotten the leaf spring yet)

Right now the truck is levelish. But the front seems to be a little higher.

How the hell did you pull that off? Nice deal.

My SC money just got reallocated to a brand new 2023 can am outlander 1000r xtp. So I'm stacking up my pennies up again.

    Edited for spelling.

Good Lord!! 700 Horse? Holy (is cussing allowed?) CRAP!!! That's awesome!!! Wow, I didn't know that kind of power could be gotten out of that engine. You have beefier internals or stock?

Currently stock internals for now but the next phase is a built 6.0 or 6.8.

This the one getting the SCer. I'm just about done putting it together.

I've put about 900' on it since we bought it a year ago. Hopefully get it on the road next week.

I think the accepted rule is anything over 650hp????? and your gonna eventually and with certainty blow the engine without any internal work.

IMHO He just wants a semi excusable reason to do a full blown engine build. ;)

I think there's a guy doing a full blown 40k engine build in the SC forum. Seriously, stay away from that subforum if you ever want to have money in retirement.

That said I really want to have a 500(ish)hp setup (to the crank).

It doesn't take much for 500HP at the crank. Mine dyno'd at 400WHP on stock fueling and low 3psi of boost.

I bought the Amazon Launch Elite Toyota scan tool a few days back, based off what I read on this thread. Got a chance to mess with it this morning at work, and just through exploring it, I was able to reset the alcohol density learned value. This is exactly what I bought it for, so that I don't have to bother my Toyota MDT brother to reset it for me. So a definite thumbs up for that for the scan tool. I'm going to refuel after work, and verify the reading stays low. This time, it was the worst I've ever had it, up around 88% after some questionable fuel on our June Utah trip in Page, AZ.

What size are these? I put 275/55/20s on my wife’s JGC and they were tight, but fit and looked great.
