I’m looking to install SMALLER side view mirrors. I still wouldn’t mind all the features, but the stock mirrors create a major blind spot, especially on the passenger side, that has made me nearly pull out in front of people on several occasions. Anyone ever installed smaller ones with the bare minimum of turn lights and folding functionality? Ideally, just to get lower - slung ones would be cool. Thanks peeps!

I installed larger ones, not smaller ones. Not sure what mirrors you currently have, but I was always mad that I didn't have a second mirror with a wide angle effect. I purchased these tow mirrors online (not even sure where at this point). I have a love hate relationship with them. I love that I can see everything behind me with the smaller warped mirror. I hate that the passenger side mirror isn't distorted like the factory ones "says objects in mirror are closer than they appear". This passenger mirror is just a mirror and so it's kind of not wide enough. but the warped one below it is awesome. The size of them is good, but the height is not ideal. Now im being picky, but I really wish they were slightly lower because when making turns there is now a giant blind spot just at my eye level. It's a stupid thing but I don't believe that the people who design this stuff actually us it. They make it on a cad program and produce it, we buy it and life goes on.

Ok, enough ranting for now. good luck on your quest, but IMO I think you probably have the smallest mirrors available, which were the stock mirrors. (someone will come along and correct me).

Thanks. I know I’m bucking the trend, but I no longer tow as many things as before, so now I find myself in more urban environments where that passenger side blind spot can be a real hazard. People jumping off the curbs, motor cycle riders and cyclists fit uniquely int that blind spot. Been a time or two that I pulled out in front of someone I couldn’t see. If only the mirrors were just a few inches lower, it would be a great help.

Why don't you get some smaller mirrors that come with adheasive that you put in the lower outside corner of your reg mirrors? That's what I did and they cover my blind spot perfectly. Had them for several years and they have have not come unstuck yet.

I think he's saying the mirrors themselves are the blind spot.

@eam1024, you can find the regular mirrors at any dealership when you give them the VIN number to your truck. Since you have a 2012 Tundra, I'm not sure what all came as an option. I assume it would be everything that came with the 2nd Gen trucks minus the BSM.
