Looks like a stock leaf pack that someone stacked some leafs from something else under it and tossed the overload in the trash.

An AAL would be a single or a three pack and the three pack would have its own retainers.

I recently read an article about jalapenos. Apparently the more stressed the plant, the spicier the pepper. It you don't water em enough they get spicy. Also the older the pepper the spicier. You can tell their age sort of, by the wrinkles and color. Those red ones are older and hotter according to the article. Also the more wrinkles the hotter.

 

We grow jalapeños every year. Can’t figure out how to predict the heat. I’ve heard the wrinkles thing, found it to not always be true. Letting them stay on the plant longer makes them turn dark green, black, and then red. Those seem to get sweeter, but not always hotter. I can pick 2 from the same plant the same day, and one will be hotter than the other. Oh well, none of them are really that hot, but they all taste delicious. My wife just made cowboy candy and I can’t wait till it’s ready.

 

Awesome thanks a bunch. My biggest impact said no thanks when i tried to take the U-bolts apart. They're soaking in PBlaster rn. If I can manage to get them off I'll clean up each leaf and put the pack back together as is. I'm missing the bump stop on the driver side so they gotta come out somehow. I really hope I don't strip the nuts, but new ones may be necessary if I end up having to cut them.

 

Scratch that. I just read one too many stories of re-used U-bolts snapping. Fresh ones are on the way.

 

About the door.

See if the handle on the outside is closing all the way when you shut the door. It happens on my crv's driver side. Fucking though I was trapped for a second then hopped out the passenger side lol

 

I can vouch for this. Mine has 150k? And the only issue it's ever had was the outside door handle having a bunch of dirt in it and it causes the inner door handle to not work.

But dumb reliable. Just ugly. So I'm trying to sell mine too

 

Yeah, definitely get new u-bolts once you are finalized on your rear spring setup.

If you're trying to work on a bastard pack and fine tune it, id think you'd be okay to "fine tune" it and get the bastard pack to settle to a final ride height. When you find the final ride height that you like that will be permanent and have put a few miles on the used u-bolts, swap the ubolts out for a new set you do not plan on removing anytime soon. If I remember later, I will tag you on some of my custom leaf pack posts that go into this further.

(I have reused U-bolts before and at very least they loose preload/ torque capability, but they end up crossthreading and straight up jumping threads)

Black to red?! That’s crazy! My mom used to mainly grow tomatoes and squash type plants with grey water from the washer. I’m sure they were super good but as a kid I wasn’t into those veggies

I already cut them. Definitely poorly bastardized by one of the PO's. the center bolts were different and 2 of the leaves were facing opposite directions on each side. I'm not too picky about ride height in the rear, I'll just match the front as close as i can to wherever it lands.

I usually change ride height just by loading up more weight hahaha

 

Gotcha! When I bastardized my pack, I definitely needed a new center pin for the whole pack too. (Again, I'll post links and pictures when I'm home). Honestly though, bastard packs are such a good value for how little money you spend if you know what you're doing.

If you need a new centering pin to match that number of leaves, Oreillys definitely has a long enough centering pin, but it just needs to be cut down. Again I'm not home currently, so I can't speak for what centering pin I bought. Itis in my post history but I will look later. I just know the pin diameter worked for me, I just had to cut it as the pin was too long)

It’s funny you say that. Just the other day, I walked past a lighted red sign in the factory that at first glance, looked like it said “Red Head Factory”. I did a double take and looked again only to find it read “RF Head Factory”. I think I’m working too many hours here and not getting enough sleep.

I’d also take a pic but too many people were walking down the corridor to look inconspicuous.

So the heat in peppers doesn't come from seeds. It comes from the membrane on the inside. It's actually the placenta of the pepper.

 

When I cook with peppers for people who don't like spicy, I remove the seeds and membrane, then wash the inside of the peppers, before cooking.
If I want em spicy, I don't wash the insides and will leave a few seeds. But the membrane aways goes, even if I leave some behind for spice.

 

That hurts my soul.

when she decides she cant drive it, and i get it back, its gonna get dolly wheels up front and atv tires on the back to sit an inch or two proud. Gonna keep it quiet, so i'll find the largest muffler i can fit. Kinda want one of those amr300 superchargers, but i'd need a coated piston to survive a lean burn.

 

Back in my early 20's, both one of my friends an i bought a bag of raw habaneros at the local supermarket. Our goal was to eat one a day and slowly acclimate our sensitive palates to the spice. All we ended up with was ring of fire for a straight two weeks, and habaneros are still too spicy for me to eat. I still REALLY like spicy foods, just not 4th degree burn hot. The spice is perfect for me if it makes the back of my neck and forehead start to sweat. I don't really want to talk about the time i ate a spicy burrito the night before i raced a marathon on the next morning...or how i swore during the middle of the race that i would never make that foolish mistake again...which i somehow did (i'm shaking my head back and forth as i'm tying right now) the very next year the night before the same marathon race. D'oh!
