As most here know, I got hitched back in June, and June was a busy month for us as for planning our ceremony to be held here at our home along with the front porch reno going full tilt.
With the generous coin we received from family and friends from our wedding we had these made for our porch to complete it.

We know "a guy" out in Wyoming who worked patiently with me designing some of the pieces and it came yesterday, and we couldn't be more pleased with how it came out.
The hardware for the swing is all 304SS and rated 1,200#, my now wife is a Heffer of 103# lol,so I wanted to make sure it holds up when she gets on it.
I had also designed a branding iron with the the first letter of our last name along with Est.2024. It should be here next week and once it arrives we'll brand each piece of furniture together to make it ours.

These were not too bad. 24 windows and a slider for 40k installed. Some of the other quotes were 96k and the other was 125k.

Natures solution to pesky bugs, a bug. Those are great to have in a garden. They’ll eat the aphids and worms that destroy your garden.

Some people don't know about my window nightmare. In June of 2023 we had a pretty damn good hail storm. We lost our camper, Subaru, and caused 150,000.00 in damages to the house. Most of which was the windows and stone.

We tried to get Kolbe windows out to repair or replace the windows. That was worthless. To be honest, the windows are junk, leaked water through the sash, and half of them I just caulked closed. The windows were shot in 5-6 years which is ridiculous. Some local window repair companies would repair the windows without a warranty since they would have to delaminate to reseal. Having aluminum clad exterior material just isn't a good idea in hail country. Composite or vinyl work best with the hail and dry climate. Wood also isn't the best choice for our climate.

Anyway we got a quote from renewal by Andersen for just the damaged windows (3 would have been out of pocket) for 96,000.00. Yeah, that wasn't happening. For shitzngiggles we asked for a quote to replace our front entry door. 30,000.00. Insane.

I reached out to you fine people and really had some great recommendations and chose Sierra Pacific Aspen series windows. This was another crap show. The contractor we had come out first started with 40k to do the windows and then we never heard from them for months. After reaching out they wanted to come out and remeasure again. This time the quote went up to 60k. Weird...then a few more months went by. I grew tired of these guys and went to check on other options. We finally heard back from this Denver based company and they had a new project manager that wanted to come down and measure again. So they came down to measure again. Third time is a charm. When we got the quote back for 125,00.00 I started brainstorming.

We ended up buying our garage doors through Home Depot and that went very smooth...so I checked on windows. They had a rep come out the next day and offered the same Andersen windows installed for 30,000.00 which included the three windows that were not covered by hail. At this point it is a no brainer. We added the rear slider and front entry door for another 15,000.00. HD also ups the 25 year warranty from Andersen to lifetime and it is transferable to the next owner.

So far, HD have been total rock stars in repairing my home after the storm.

Finally got around to refinishing the exterior of the “ADU” or “shopartment” building that my son and his wife are currently occupying at the other end of my driveway. It started life as a one car garage shop type thing that was pretty gross, but handy to have as a shop. We converted it into an apartment and today we finally finished the beautification of it. Wife picked all the finishes, I think she did a great job. We will be doing the same to the main house as time and budget allows.

Sweet, extra square footage is a plus.
Nice technique making the bricks looking distressed.
