That's a horrible idea for several reasons. However, moving blankets do actually work pretty well for putting out small fires. Tried and true.

Well I use oily rags to burn wet/green wood in my burn pile. Works real good. Maybe moving blankets are different thought...
Used motor oil is the best. Keeps the flame going, while the water evaporates, so the wood can burn.

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Being in a residential setting I never burn toxic shit like that. Treated lumber/plastics/oil rags don't go in my fire pit. Maybe it's different down there (on the surface of the sun:bananadead:) where people have their windows shut/AC on 24/7.

It's not a Tundra, but I saw this rust bucket up in Indiana this morning.

@shifty` and @GODZILLA I'm the guy that posted the SNT video and made the comment. I never meant to stir the pot. I simply thought it was cool to hear a 2UZ-FE with open headers and I think the Celica build is sweet. I also commented that "Sarah is cute". Here's how I feel about understanding a little more about who Sarah really is...
At first I felt ashamed that I made the comment. I found myself asking if there is something wrong with my perception and judgement. Then I was angry at being "fooled". I wanted to lash out. Hit something. Prove my manhood. Then I just accepted it for what it is, and realized that it's all so ridiculous. I don't need to prove anything, nor do I need to be ashamed. Look, I think Sarah has done a great job at being the best version of who she (yes I said she) wants to be. There must have been huge challenges to overcome both physically and mentally. She's super smart, with an aeronautical engineering background from the Air Force, and she builds some of the most clean and meticulously put together cars I've seen. I would love to own one. Is my perception changed? Sure. But it's not going to stop me from enjoying her content on YT, and I have absolutely no shame in saying that.
I appreciate both of your comments and differing views. I perceived no hate or malice in either. It's too bad that there are folks who can't simply live and let live. And I have no time for them. You both and so many others are great assets to the 1GT community. Thanks for making it a knowledgable and fun place to hang out.

Don't beat yourself up, for sure. You're not the first and won't be the last that didn't know, and as @shifty` predicted, somebody will always be there to point it out! I have a friend who did the same thing, and I informed him of the situation. He went through the same steps you did, and we had a good laugh, but there's no malice toward Sarah involved. I'm very much a live and let live, even if what you choose to do is something I object to on moral grounds. Those are my morals, not yours, and I'm not here to judge. You do you, I'll do me, and we can get along great!

I also bolded the important part. I am part of the 1GT without even owning one. Hell, I'm in a Ferd F-150 now days. :drevil: It's the ultimate switcheroo!

Those new Tacoma's look just like a baby Tundra now. It doesn't even have a separate identity anymore.

Yes. In 2022 I downsized to a 2023 TRD Pro Taco.

After a miserable tow experience into a headwind I needed a V8 again. Tried to find a used 2.5 Gen Tundra but anything close was absurdly overpriced and the ones better priced were far enough away I couldn't get eyes on them. I have anxiety issues with used and so I did the 5.0 in the F-150 with an extended warranty on all the computer crap.

I did not have one of those. It was the 3rd gen Taco. Still miss the color.

The 2.5 gens are incredibly expensive. I was looking to get one before I picked up the 1st Gen and they wanted $37k out the door with 40k miles, even with my employee discount. It would have cost me $770 per month. Hell naw.

@KNABORES is selling his 2.5. $19k. Or it's a 19. Pretty sure there's a 19 in there somewhere. Anyways, ditch the Ford and come back to the cool trucks. It's bad enough you ride a nerd bike. :D

I'm enjoying the Ferd for now, and the 5.0 is pretty well established. Also, did you miss my bike upgrade? o_O

They are. That's part of why I couldn't do it. They sell for more now with 30K miles on them than I paid for mine new in 2019. Still, if there had been one closer that was in the right price range I would have been back in one.

So far, not regretting the Ferd. It's nice having non potato cameras, its seat is a bit more comfortable, and I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying playing with the newer tech.

The Ford's are beautiful. My buddy has a 23 F150 with the massive touch screen radio unit and it's pretty stunning. I like the F150s.

I still haven't upgraded the audio system in my Tundra, so it gets me pretty jealous.

I can handle the heat. Super T is a GSA without the shaft performance issues, ipad dash, and half the price. :p

I love the new 1300 GSA and if a dealership were close enough to help with issues I would consider it right up until the price. I just can't pay car money for a summer toy.

Welp, driving away from picking up the CRV last night, I went and grabbed my kid from his music stuff, and when we got home, we realized the passenger door won't open from the inside. This morning, took it to pick up some Acura TSX wheels a few miles down the road, between me and the tag/title office. I got about 5 miles down the road and *BINK* check engine light came on. Engine wasn't running weird so I knew it wasn't serious, but I'd noticed after buying it, it had been idling about 100rpm lower than I'd expect.

Grabbed the wheels, rolled to the tag/title office. Only to find out the seller filled out the title wrong and neither of us noticed, so they wouldn't take it. Put her name and address on the title where mine should be. So they wouldn't take it, "this is an official instrument, this document", wanted me to meet up with her and a notary to get a piece of paper notarized saying "I screwed up, and put invalid info, please issue a new document". Dammit.

Get home, whip out the OBDlink MX+ and scan the code. P0507. That and the periodic rough idle ... probably secondary air intake valve/idle control valve. $150 for OEM part. Knuckle buster to get out because you'd need a 24mm crows-foot to get out due to its tee. While I was in there testing to confirm, in fact, with the engine warm there was a ton of vacuum on the air control line, I noticed a pretty significant oil leak down the back of the block, fresh one. Explains why I was smelling burnt oil at the couple of stops I made.

Reached out to the owner. "This is not what I purchased. This is not cool. Car was supposed to be in good running condition, I'm already popping codes for something that'd cost $500 at the local trusted shop you use..."

They were cool about it, we talked, I learned it's actually popped a code a couple of times now, related to idle, and the shop she uses had been throwing parts at it, and assured her it was fixed the last time it was in there, which was why they were tired of it and decided to sell. Still, they refunded in full. She tried to offer it to me for $1k, at least I think that's what she was saying, "else I'm donating it, we're kinda tired of it", but even at that price, I'm out $500 in ad valorem tax, and out $200 on the parts. I declined, while I'm sure it's worth it, my gut is telling me there's other issues I really don't want to deal with.

RockAuto won't let me cancel the door actuator order, even though it's not shipping til tomorrow. Can't get ahold of a human, no number to call.

Crutchfield order is coming shortly, I'll be returning that and taking a hit on return ship. I'll probably eat return shipping on the RockAuto stuff as well.

    What a damn rollercoaster.
