Yeah it wasn’t bad at all, especially up in the trees. The heat was still fkn brutal on the climb, but that’s to be expected

Anyone know of an inexpensive shop that could do an engine replacement? I'll gladly travel outside the front range if it's less. Shops here quoted me $4,000 just for labor. 2005 Lexus ES330.

Hey all!! Just moved here to Avon and was looking to maybe try to find a group that occasionally goes and hits some trails on the weekends! Or just generally curious about any good trails or places to go check out? Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, but wanted to say hi to all and get some advice from the forum!

Welcome to the area! I'd love to get out with a group of Tundras at some point. I think the Gulches in Woodland Park would be a great spot as I think it's relatively full size friendly (bit of a drive for you). But if you can tolerate some pin-striping, then you hit up lots of trails! If you haven't heard of it, OnX Offroad is a great way to look up and explore trails.

Hek it, I requested the Colorado Toyotas 4x4 group as well. I’m all for more Toyota Offroad banter instead of the endless dismal news cycles that seem to run every day on FB

    Nitrogen filled tires!
If you own a Tundra it should not be difficult to find topics that you have knowledge of or are interested in - just like TW and owning a Taco. Just like TW some come here to sell - not to share or learn. "Looking" does not require a minimum number of post - nor does purchasing. Rules are rules and we all have to follow the same rules - until you don't and get put in time out or sent packing. Your choice. I'm local on TW too and have been since I had my Gen2 which I replaced with a SC Gen3. Only 14 more posts here and you are free to post items on the BST without worry. Welcome to the Forum.

This was too serious for my reply. I was implying apparently I’m bad at small talk and or don’t say much - maybe I’m just on my phone less idk.
but as with TW like to deal with our community over the nonsense on Facebook if I do ever list something. Just didn’t realize it took as long as it did.

TLDR: They charged me an arm and a leg, didn't perform work they charged me for, tried to blame me for being upset, and then maybe fucked with my tire.

Asked for coolant flush, CV axle swap, propeller shaft grease, engine oil change, diff/t-case oil change, brake fluid flush. I usually do things myself but didn't have the resources to swap CV axles and figured I'd get the rest of the things done as well. Not only are ToyAuto Masters expensive as all hell, it turned into a terrible experience. Dropped off mid-week, needed to pick up over the weekend so I could use it on the following Monday (it's my daily driver). ToyAuto Masters sends me the invoice for CVJ Axles (my requested part) and they attempt to charge me double what CVJ is selling them for. I ask "why would I pay double the CVJ Axle price when I can just go there (CVJ Axles are also in Denver) and pick them up myself? Can I just provide them myself and you guys install?" After that they lower the price to proper CVJ axle price, already not a great sign I had to convince them to not scam me. Against my better judgement I had them continue, should've followed my gut feeling and taken the truck back. Got there over the weekend, had asked them to put the key in center console out of sight and lock the truck, I would use my 2nd key on picking up the vehicle. I arrive and the key is in plain sight on the dash parked outside the shop in a very sketchy neighborhood. OK, people can't follow simple instructions, nothing new.

I decide to inspect what I can before driving off (CV axles swapped, coolant flushed, engine oil color), good thing I checked too. Engine oil color was correct, newish oil color, but the radiator was empty, no coolant in the rad and no coolant in the resevoir either. If I drove off I would've been driving with no coolant in the truck. I call but see nobody in the shop (closed on weekends), ok, I leave a message for Monday. Come Monday I walk in and give them a piece of my mind, explaining I can't trust the work done on the truck except the engine oil seems new in color and the CV axles are there. The owner (Jay) comes out and tries to blame me for being upset like I'm being unreasonable. Mind you, at this point I am livid, I tell him "this is ToyAuto Masters fault, you've wasted hours of my time, days without my vehicle, you have thousands of my dollars and it looks like all you've done is swap CV axles and drain my truck's coolant. I want to go back there see the work being done or you're giving me a refund." I didn't call them yahoos or anything, but my tone was extremely angry. Anyway, he brings me back to his office and explains to me some bullshit, in addition to "I sign off on any work done and you can see here on this paper I signed off on the coolant flush and refill." I lost it, I said "go look at my fucking truck that you drove into the front lot with no coolant and tell me if the coolant is in there." He then admits that they never greased the truck's propeller shaft because "we couldn't reach the zerk" and charged me for it anyway. I spend about an hour standing in the back watching one of these professional dingdongs flush my truck's coolant with a machine and refill the rad + resevoir with pink coolant, and then I leave to never darken their doorstep again. Soon as I got home I changed all the fluids myself, 0% confidence that ToyAuto Masters did squat in terms of any work performed aside from clearly swapped axles, and my wallet is lighter for it. The whole drive home I was listening as hard as I could for sounds of underfilled/janked up differential fluids for fear of something bad happening.

Little less than 2 weeks later I discover that a 3" long screw has been causing a slow leak in my tire. Discount Tire employee, unprompted, told me to come to the back and look at it with him. He shows me the screw still flush embedded in the tire and says "did someone drive a screw into your tire? This screw looks brand new unlike most of the shit we find in people's tires and it looks like it was screwed in flush instead of driven in from the street." Long story, Discount Tire dude...
