I like how they conveniently left out a few statements that folks may want to know.

Loaner Vehicle or Alternative Transportation Reimbursement Procedure If a vehicle owner is uncomfortable driving their vehicle while we prepare the remedy, a loaner vehicle or alternative transportation can be claimed for $60 per day.

The state of California requires the completion of Safety Recalls / Service Campaigns on emission related parts prior to vehicle registration renewal. In addition, the State requires that every vehicle must pass an emission test (SMOG Check) every two years and before it is sold. Without the completion of this FREE Safety Recall Campaign the California Air Resources Board (CARB) will not allow your vehicle to be registered. State of California Regulations require Toyota to provide the Department of Motor Vehicles with a record of all vehicles that have not had the Safety Recall Campaign completed.

    Lots of stuff!
I posted in this in the wrong section so here it is:

This is what the back of the Toyota Canada letter says.

Canadian owners who are dealing with this will NOT be given a rental reimbursement. It doesn't matter if you are not comfortable driving the truck with the potential failure.

I did reach out to my dealership service manager and he can't do anything, he has nothing in his "tool chest" to deal with this.

You will also notice that there is no link to Transport Canada if you are unhappy with the situation or the repairs. There is little accountability up here and even the lack of information shows an unwillingness to keeping the affected owners satisfied. Toyota Canada is not the same as Toyota USA!

    @Tunrod

I have spoken to one Toyota Canada rep who called me but really knew nothing and in the end said he would call me back after going to speak to someone else. That was 3 weeks ago?

I have sent 6 emails to these folks and all I get back is gibberish except the last response that I "may" get a call from the dealership service department that was a week ago. I have already spoken to the service manager and they have nothing! The recall letter wording basically tells owners to speak to their dealership service department.

So around in circles we go!

The biggest take away is that Customer Service keeps telling me that they are not Toyota USA, they are a different company with different plans on how to deal with this. We only have about 10% of the trucks up here so we only get 10% of the effort ;)

Toyota USA 1-800 is no better. I think they sub the call center out to West Africa. That is the new el cheapo destination for IT since India and Pakistan went up on their rates

So, I guess Toyota Canada does not understand the expression "the buck stops here". Maybe it would need to be translated to looney?

2022 Platinum with 20K miles at the dealer now with a short block replacement in progress. The dealer's warranty manager stated that is the current remedy now. I called Toyota care to check if that was accurate and did not receive a response.

I have a 2023 1794 non hybrid and have not received a recall. Has anyone received a letter or app notification on a 2023. Mine was built in January 2023,.which falls within the timeline

mine is the same, so far nothing, if you want you can do engine oil analysis for your own records.

I have. 22 TRD spot. No letter yet. The recall does show up in the Toyota app. Any idea when Toyota will start replacing engines?

I have hard time believing they will replace all 100k + engines. Probably they are looking for ways to filter the affected engines.
A simple recall for fuel line was more than a year ago and we are still waiting for permanent fix. Apply this wait time concept to something major and expensive like engine replacement. Probably gonna take years.

Get your new motor and gas lines at the same time plus they can do the squeaky brakes and seat panel fixes while they have it in the shop.

I have a letter, talked to my dealer and as I was one of the first to get a tundra from my local dealer he figured Feb or Mar and told me two weeks to complete. I want to know if Toyota is planning on buying some of the trucks back. As they have done so with past major recalls
