We pay sales tax on private sales through the DMV based on the declared price by the seller, but sometimes they'll go off KBB values. Private sellers here will sometimes list the declared sale price as cheaper.

Oh well, I guess I'm veering into undesirable territory. At least I got the parts I needed from the JY for the dash tweets. The wiring was completely batshit though. I found what I thought was the tee up to the speakers on the lower dash lip where the glovebox pivots, but in actuality the wiring appeared to do some crazy shit splitting off a harness along the steel bar that acts as dash support. Fuck if I know what Honda was doing/thinking.

Just think of how many times a single car can change hands ffs... and each time, chaching, chaching, chaching $$$$$. It's a pretty awesome racket they've got going.

Supposedly, if you can put a million miles on a toyota with the original engine and transmission, then Toyota will give you a new truck. Question is; do you have to forfeit the million mile truck to them, or does the owner keep it? Anybody know for sure?

PS - orange stickers in my pic are off a Camry. Picked them up to see how easy it'll be to update my faded ass door lock stickers. I'm still shocked nobody makes replacement dark orange stickers. I'd buy 'em. Actually shit, I just searched and someone does! $7 though. Eek that's steep.

The DC and AC that went on one of the four local PAP's were pretty well picked after being out for 2 weeks. I was going to take the OEM u-bolts, but meh. I couldn't yoink the skid plate, the assholes on the yard had the driver front corner propped up right on top of the radiator support bolt that holds skid plate in place. Springs looked good, they they had the AC rear corner propped up on the leaf spring. No fog light switches. No other little goodies. Meh.

The DC got railed, someone either had a T-bone, or was fixing full-on rocker rust. AC was jsut picked over (last pic) and had so much rat shit in it it wasn't funny.

I saw complaints about that and the annoying safety warning at startup. Both of which are supposed to be fixed in a firmware update they released within the last couple months.

Alpine 670 if you don't need wireless Carplay. I don't want to mess w/wires, wireless Carplay was a must, as was a knob, knowing I don't want to plug in every time I get in the car, and knowing this will ultimately be the kids' car.

First, plastic flat blades. Heat gun to the sticker while you scrape with the plastic flat razor.

Once that's gone, two options: 3-in-1 house oil/penetrant works well. But I like Turtle Wax sticker/adhesive remover personally. Some have commented the latter will potentially soften clearcoat for a few days. I have only experienced it once, on a Trek bike.
