Mcgard tailgate lock any good?

    Never know when you're gonna forget to lock the truck or if the tailgate lock may fail (mine has).
    Better safe than sorry...:thumbsup:

    This was on of the first mods I did when I got my truck because tailgate theft was in the news at the time. Haven’t touched it since.

    Mostly stock TRD Pro
    I got the OEM tailgate lock from Treasure Coast Toyota off Amazon. The longest part of the install is zip tying the harness along the body harness on the passenger side frame rail. Plug & Play. Works great. Otherwise, I always left the tailgate locked. Another thing that should have been OEM from the factory IMHO.

    Mine is not tight, it tightens to the same point around the hinge or holding it in my hand. Is that right?
    It is loose around the hinge.
